@xclbr
i already try to mod the 3.9 camdriver according to your post
hopefully it wasn't the content of plummy's driver mod and gave the driver a new fresh breath.
will post the comparison within days...
cross my finger on this....

The new value have almost identical change with the plummy's mod driver
Here is the comparison between default v3.9 and the new edited camdriver
3.9 (685kb)
5.1 (1.09mb)
3.9 (599kb)
5.1 (986kb)
Low light
3.9 (313kb)
5.1 (536kb)
Haven't got time to look over at Plummy's content, suspiciously the 5.1 and Plummy's are the same (hopefully NOT LOL)

as you can see, lower jpeg compression made the orange-blue lines appear even more

dear all,
Whether this will affect battery performance? last time I modding camdriver to elm, battery run out quickly (less than 1 / 2 day), and mobile phone is in standby mode throughout the day was warm, correct me if wrong |

So, if it is hardware fault then the issue with blue lines when pictures are taken in low light cannot be solved by a driver update then? |

I think an update can fix it. If the hardware has a limited performance, then they should create a firmware that will match the hardware. Although this could result to a less sharper image, but the blue/red lines can be minimized (if not eliminated) to the lowest degree. It's just my idea though.

well, lets just hope it can be fixed from the driver cause poor us if it was hardware faulty.
@edi
changing the camdriver won't drain your phone batt except you turn on the camera very frequently.
Cmiiw.

I don't think it is a hardware fault. since these blue lines appear anywhere in picture.
This may be problem with Elm's image processing system (noise reduction??) some image data may corrupt during process and appear as blue lines. then these line blured from JPEG compression.
anyone still tried with completely dark photos ? |

pavithra_uk: I agree with groovepeppy and I even wrote it once - seems to be hardware problem. I don't see, why it should not be. It's not JPEG compression problem, because the same lines are not only in video, but even in viewfinder (not so noticeable, but visible in some situations). It's growing on dark places and when you are trying to get lighter picture - like classic noise...
We can hope, we can believe...why not, but I'not waiting for miracle like that....
Nowadays, I'm enjoying Elm, fw R7BA076. And here camdriver database for k750/w800/w810: www.camdrivers.wz.cz |
