last summer I just did that .... found a shop online that sold NEW W800i's and bought me two ...
(4 month ago I borrowed one to my partner and since then he does not want to give it back... will have to look for this shop again)
Here my 2 new W800i with W995i that does not come even close to my older phones

Luckily my old W800 is still in good shape and works fine. Only the batteri lid could use a replacement.
If you want a SE phone that's good for SMS, it's definitely W800/W810. Most newer SE phones sucks at SMS writing. |

well after the MWC2010 news.. im sure now SE has made a decision for making some touch-screen phones..
if only SE releases these things earlier... i might still use an SE. anyway, after seeing the 2009 handset sales chart, i guess im not the only one leaving SE for something else. though i miss some SE's flagship features i.e. walkman.

IMHO, as my requirement suggests (music player, basic camera, longer battery life, responsive GUI, multitasking), i still prefer a
but if in the near future, won't release phones that interests me (i just only have one phone in interest, Xperia X10 Mini), i would rather stick with my G502 (which is somewhat slow BTW), modified to my preferences.. or going back to my thrifty K700i (which i missed so much even though we split worlds just this last Valentine's Day)..
but i won't go for a Nokia! maybe a N82/5800xm (or E51 if I've just wanted a low quality camera) because of my Internet needs.. but Nokia never touches my heart.. they're awful when it comes to music..
Samsung?! uhmm.. i liked the Pixon12.. but only the touch screen i really like in them.. music's just fine, interface not too slow (compared to Nokia's snail-speed GUI)
LG?! just the BL40 catches my eyes.. but i dunno what the chocolate can offer..

my experience with SE phone:
- strong network signal
- responsive
- excellent music phone, as what it is designed
- no frills
- plenty of users, plenty of mods
- always insists of sony's proprietary M2 or non-3.5mm jack until recently
I'm using a T230.
*Network signal could be better.
*Writing SMS is slow / laggy.
*Poor music phone
*no frills
*almost no users and no mods
*SE always insists on not including M2 or 3.5mm jack
*SE had many crappy joysticks (my other phone was the K500 which I loved but is no longer used 'cause of said crappy joystick)
*T230 has USB connectivity, unlike so many other budget phones now
Hah!
If I buy a new phone, it will be a bar-shape smartphone with a real tactile keypad with wi-fi and a browser that does Flash, but it would have to be really reliable, have good battery life, have a screen that can be seen well in the sun and it would have to last at least 3 years of trouble-free service for me to be satisfied with it. But I know that even if I had this I'd miss the small size of the T230 in my pocket and I'd miss the interface of it too.
I'd want to use them both for different reasons.
I read so many stories of new phones with buggy or slow firmware or poor hardware and I'm glad I'm not buying them. To me, reliability comes first. I'd much rather have a dumphone that's reliable than a smartphone that isn't. |

@mrjulius i rather go for a samsung or LG than getting an iPhone if there's no .. Too expensive to buy, too expensive to maintain.. Apple's vanity sucks!

lol, iPhone is NOT expensive to maintain. I haven't spent a single penny on it since I bought it (except for a protective case, of course). SE's are expensive to maintain (from experience). Actually, the reason I've not been active in this forum for a while because I bought an iPhone 3G S last Christmas and so far, I'm VERY happy with it. Wondering how I did without it years ago. But I'm not saying I have a bad experience with SE, I actually have a good experience until I bought a K850i. That phone is terrible to own and maintain. It's entertaining and interesting to mod though.
Regards.

@nnr3 in regards with hardware, yah! iPhone's not too expensive to maintain.. But how about it's features, such as apps, services and internet access?! Isn't it expensive?! On , they uses Java platform, so it is affordable to use..
I beg to agree with you in regards in maintaining a i remembered my K700i being repaired a year ago which costed tens of euros/pounds.. And their accessories such as the M2 and the HPM's.. They're too expensive!

ahh.. i remember my old trusty T310... it was working well until one day it's dead and SE centre said it's beyond repair. I also have K508 and it reminds me of the old Splinter Cell 3D Java Games.. that phone was the first phone that makes me freak about java games, during those moments.
the joystick of both device is crappy, but none crappier than K800. my K800 joystick broke into 2 pieces and the replacement isn't easily available either. i had to use K700 joystick for a year (it doesnt fit so the cover is off) until i bought the proper joystick and sold it off, again, because it fails after 2 years.
anyway, iphone accessories are abundant. that's what i'm jealous of. alarm and speaker docks, exactly what i needed. lol

I just got my first SE, a c901, yesterday.
Works perfectly in every way, I especially like how quick on it's feet and responsive it is. I've spent, no lie, like 20 mins just going up and down on the menu cause it has haptic feedback. And the gallery loads up crazy fast. So does the Camera.
Three things:
- No flashlight, even though it has a totally usable LED light in there.
- No option to use LED instead of xenon. Bestpic or whatever could also use some LED lovin cause xenon can't recharge as fast as it shutters.
- The WalkMate app doesn't work. I'm going to try a few things to make it work, but that'd be a really neat thing to have, and they robbed me of it haha.
