What's the point of his open letter to SE?
He already killed SE numerous times on his websites. He really does have a BIG problem with SE..didn't he? |

Oh for god's sake, this is a lot of words to basically say not that much at all. Can't believe I actually wasted my time reading it. How will SE ever be able to make it up to him? |

at the very core of eldar's letter is the hope that will change for the better
it's just a proof that deep down inside, eldar is just like us! fanboys
but he is one fanboy who is not blinded by some success.
he wanted to regain its lost glory.
i miss reading positive reviews from eldar
the latest mh907 review was quite positive though
Agreed, he's just a fanboy. Perhaps some of you wouldn't be too blind to see that if you just stop revering SE like it's some kind of saint that can't possibly do any wrong. Read this review http://www.mobile-review.com/[....]/sonyericsson-gandalf-en.shtml
Does it look like it came from someone who's intent on sinking SE? Sheesh, I can't believe some of you people.

Except it was written by Sergei Kuzmin, who always has a moderate attitude towards SE.
For the umpteenth time, NOBODY is denying the problems, but they are questioning Eldar's motives and integrity. Also, they probably broke embargo conditions when they published the review before the product was officially unveiled. Some of you should drive that into your heads before you throw the tired old fanboy line.
Jeez!

my point is that simply putting a link to show a phone won an award means nothing. The W995 would have been a success without it anyway.

I hate the fact things have to work like that, this is EXACTLY the kick up the arse NOKIA need as well. Anyway i havent totaly read the letter just bits here and there, so il take your word for it. I just hope SE take the valid points seriously and improve. 1st thing is Quality and Support, they must not just drop a device after a year and fold their hands. 2nd is just personal: make mid range smartphones similar to W705 and W995 in specs, but thats just me.

Personally I don't care if Eldar is in fact the devil incarnate, all the mud-slinging about him just makes me *very* suspicious of the people flinging the mud. I know nothing of his "honesty and integrity" but I can smell FUD when it's being spread.
The points he makes in the letter are broadly fair, there's no denying that SE have had problems and his explanations for those problems are pretty plausible. If he's got it completely wrong then so be it, the squeaky clean and perfect SE will simply come out with killer products anyhow and prove him wrong, which appears to be what he wants anyway.
Discredit the man if it makes you feel better, but I have to wonder how that helps anyone.

Boinng: You make me laugh. Seriously.
But since they need to cut a dash already today, they have come up with a bizarre hybrid in the form of a regular display, but with 12 touch-sensitive dots.
That's a direct quote from his highness Eldar himself about the Aino:
http://www.mobile-review.com/articles/2009/birulki-18-en.shtml
Now is that incorrect info or what?
I've given you proof that he deliberately spreads misinformation. Go ahead and disprove it if you can. Who's FUDing now, huh?
To me Scotsboyuk's letter is far more sincere than Eldar's, no matter how I look at it.

something that is eaten to satisfy hunger?
i know. its a typo for MUD.
i just hope for whatever its worth, Mr. Bert would give some consideration to Eldar's letter
and to scotsboyuk's too

resuming Eldar's letter: make.believe
maybe knew this letter was coming from him and then decided to get a makeup with this new campaign.
i totally agree with Eldar and his letter. i just feel like him when he says:
...Please, don't ruin it - you now have a chance that very few get. A chance to resurrect a once-famous phone maker from the situation it is in today, but achieving this goal is impossible without a grain of honesty in your relationships with consumers, partners and press.
Quite agree Tranced, nice to see such an enlightened, balanced point of view:)
Some the deranged, pathetic bile i see in this thread says more about the posters, than the subject in hand

Hey Mark, we'd love to hear your enlightened, balanced view on these two matters:
1) Why did Eldar post a blatantly incorrect bit of info on the Aino? If it was an honest mistake, why didn't he bother to post a correction?
2) Why did M-R post the new SE headset's review BEFORE the official unveiling, thereby disregarding all accepted embargo practices?
Thanks. |

I'm quite content with the overall tenet and intentions of that article as a whole, and i find it's better for one's sanity not to get too fixated over minor details, i think Eldar is trying to help and be positive as regards SE's future, if some people desire to interpret things otherwise, that's their problem

After carefully reading his words, I'm quite agreed with him in some matters not all. Because of he point to Russian situation as main target.
