By the way I dont actually like the designs of the Aino or Yari phones I prefer Satio. Though as I say not for sometime plus I dont wanna buy it when it first comes to market as no doubt there will be some software bugs. As always. So far this phone is working well no problems. Only 2 things I hate the battery cover is not dead secure and slide wobbles a little to one side when open but only a little overall solid.

To this day Samsung remain the only ones who have kinda "perfected the art of building a slider" the U700's slider still doesnt wobble, not even a bit my N81 had a slight wobble when open since like a week after getting it. Had it 21months now and its never gotten worse, so i dont think you have much to worry about, sliders will always wobble a bit.

Tell you what's unique about the W995, it's metal, top to toe, front to back, and AFAIK has a mineral crystal display, so much plasticy crap around these days, W995 feels fabulous.

Well I am glad its made of mineral glass. I was worried about scratches though I do look after my phones and am careful. So many people I read say oh my phone is scratched so easy. But I see so many people treat their phones like crap. Women are the worst putting them in handbags lol. As regards to sliders one of the most solid ones I seen is the Nokia 6500 slide. My brother had one and its so solid. Plus them expensive Nokia phones in the 8800 range that most people cant afford. The w995 looks gorgeous.

Me with my beauty w995 I am having fun with it now. Over Orange HSDPA I just downloaded the full length 14 minute Michael Jackson Thriller video from Play Now. Video performance is great. Stood it on the portable speakers watching it sounds and looks great. It downloaded the video in just around one minute. Audio quality through them portable speakers is surprisingly loud for something that small. I played some music with it earlier in the kitchen whilst cooking and my dad said turn it down lol Also love the app which changes your voice its so funny.

My slider has broken. It was loose from the first day now it only pushes up half way. Returning it tomorrow for replacement. I want another one cos I love the phone dont want anything else. There is 28 days if faulty. I am shocked because I am careful and look after my phones. The slide only pushes up past the bottom keys. Just when I was curious about how sliders are made this happens really annoyed but at least I shall get a new one again

Damn, you are unlucky indeed
I've had two W995's now and no problems with either of them. Great phone it is Really like PlayNowPlus, too. Just out here in the Netherlands. Pity I have to say goodbye the second W995 again in some days/weeks |

Yes its a great phone no other problems with it just the funny slide. I had a poorly built one as the battery cover is not that tight fitting either. But everything else is great I love it. I am unlucky when it comes to phones. When the slider went I slid it down not with force then I heard something click quite loud. When I tried to push it back up its now stuck Why do you have to say goodbye to another w995?

Probably the linkage on the slider has bent slightly and needs straightening out again. Common with Sony Ericssons and Samsungs (along with the main connector ribbon coming loose on Samsungs causing display problems). When you slide your phone open or closed you get some resistance before the semi automatic open/closing function kicks in. This is basically 2 thin pieces of metal and a piece of plastic which operate the slide keeping the top section in the open or closed position. Kinda like a spring loaded mechanism but without the spring. The mech has either bent or become dislodged from their position on the slide assembly. The slide is quite solid but its the moving parts that are the main problem as they are quite thin and weak. Done plenty of slider repairs in my time.
Does the W995 suffer from squeaky battery cover syndrome like most Sony Ericsson handsets ? My new C905 has started with it already and i'm expecting my new C901 to get it as well soon.
