Im using SE w910i,my phone does supports HSDPA and 3G which i dnt really know the diffrnc btwn them.Bt i notice dat HSDPA is the rarest one as compared to 3G,it gets shown when im in a big city.i dnt like EDGE due to its slowness.i'd like to know which is better between W995 and J105 according to every perfomance. |

@Hypochlorite
Where the antenna is positioned on the phone affects its ability to get a good signal, so look into that if you want to know, maybe someone knows where antenna is positioned on the W995 or naite

HSPA is like a turbo charged 3g . Any phone that supports 4G?

Cellc has recently upgraded their network to 4G my fone is 3G/HSDPA enabled 910i and it has never displayed the 3G sign but on vodacom and mtn it does. Anyone on cell ever experianced the 4G service and where? Cause I have been to all S.A's major cities but as I have already said I haven't experianced it.

You can't get 4G on an ordinary phone, you need an 4G phone. and it's not much 4G phones out there.

@Tobias cellc on my fone doesn't even reach 3G its always EDGE. My fone 3G it should atleast connect at 3G instead of 4G or EDGE, or how does this work?

I think cellc has upgraded to 4G but they still don't support 3G. |

Ya. This is crazy! How can they do that? From edge to 4G an still dont support 3G, it confusing.

4G doesn't officially exist yet. Any current tech is just 3G (calling it 3.5G is just lame, that's like saying "almost a hole in one" or "almost won the lottery")
The official 4G specs have not been finalized yet, as current 3G tech is already evolving beyond what 4G was supposed to be. WiMax & LTE are 'candidate' 4G technologies. But until ONE standard is chosen none of them are officially 4G yet.
All proposed 4G approved tech is still scheduled to be released.
Back to the topic:
HSDPA/HSPA are faster than the basic '3G' on the phone indicator. The reason why some people only get the 3G indicator even if their provider has HSPA is simple... economics. Just because your provider claims to have HSDPA or HSPA, doesn't mean they use it, or have it deployed all over their network.

The event that you have arrange, at that point its better, else 3G is adequate enough for portable broadband. in any case, in the event that you have WiMax, at that point you dont need both. |
