Shootout: C702 vs C902 vs N95 |

@sowbran I'm talking about you posting unrelated images to this thread; C905 vs N82. Why not make another shootout thread between those? I for one am interested in it. What people can or can not accept is not really my problem. I just want a clean thread without fanboy wars. I'm sure both Nokia and SE make decent camera phones who both can produce very nice printed pictures and have different colour reproduction, lenses, etc, etc
And that is a good thing!

The N95 shot is out of focus. Is that your point? |

well, yes and no....my point is that Sonyericsson cams is better in macro, (more accurate focus) BUT in this case (if you look at the rest of the macro) also better colours.
and like i said, in THIS TEST Sonyericsson wins(again) (even c702 looks better then N95 (alias N82) in macro)..
c902 colour rendition is better and everything looks more natural then N95.
Pictures dont lies...it really shows such bad auto WB Nokia cameras have.... (maybe that Magazine shoot-out wasn't that wrong after all )

besides. N95 colours is often washed out (weak auto WB)
N95 (100%)
c902 (100%)

Very fitting. How you feel about Nokia camphones is just how some people feel about SE camphones. (Not me! I have two myself: P990i and K770i. And two Nokias: E61i and E90. )

Lol, the flower is still there, but for some reason I couldn't get a green "focus found" at the same distance as last photo on the N95, so I had to take a bit further away.
N95 ISO 100:

So I also re-shot the same with the C902 from about the same distance.
C902 ISO 64:

100% crops:
For some reason the N95 added a lot of colour that is not there in the image, normally the N95 is more bland with the colours than the SE phones, but today on this cloudy morning it's brighter. The C902 comes closest to the actual colour of the flower. But the N95 has more wow factor here.
I guess the noise levels are about the same in both pictures, it looks the N95 has less due to the brightness I guess. It seems the results greatly differ when the lighting conditions change.

Great, they look the same but one is brighter.
On another note:
Can you guys stop debating like morons? The same people say the same things all the time. It's an endless circle.
I could understand some intelligent debate in between two parties, but this is just insults and responses.

I agree nikolat, even though the discussion/flames can be funny it doesnt contribute much. If anything this little shootout shows that all 3 camera's are decent shooters, who process images in different ways. With some tweaking of the levels all of the camera's will produce perfectly fine printable images, the differences are just in the processing of the images and the lenses used in the camera's of the phone.
Maybe some of the experts here can give an unbiased view on the pictures like; details, depth, etc, etc. Those things that matter.
I didn't intend this to be a fanboy or flame topic, but just another comparison thread.

These are CAMPHONES for god sake!
As blerk said they all do a good job and they do what they are supossed to do, take decent pics sometimes.
They are not going to replace a dedicated digital camera so is pointless start to see the micro details to see wich one is better.
It's all to your personal taste as someone mentioned, if you like Cyber-shot interface and SE phones then buy C902 or C905, etc, but if you like Nokia, S60, etc then buy N82, N95 and don't worry they all have good cams.

I have C702, and I use it only for macro pictures. My friends have C902 and N95 8GB, and I can say that Cyber-shots are the best, but Nokia isn't bad. Nokia has Super-macro trick, which is really amassing. And BTW, i can say that C702 is worse 3.2 mp phone. I have K770 and C702, and I had K800, so IMO C702 is worst. C902 is better then K850, but however, it isn't as good as K800 is. For N95 I can only say it has good macro, but landscape pics are bad.
Sorry 4 my bad english |
