Thinking of leaving SE, ANOTHER story |

I'd get an iPhone the day it has an auto focus cam and A2DP profile. I'm not paying a premium for a phone with a camera that worse than my old Z610i camera. And the lack of A2DP is also something that boggles the mind. The non-phone features are very nice, but it lacks in some basic phone functions I expect a phone to have. Copy paste comes to mind too.
Besides you'll prolly get beaten up at school and your phone stolen if you show up with an iPhone

Screw the i-phone for sure i mean he is right you will get a can of whoop ass and will be robbed. Also just saying that because i hate that overrated piece of garbage. Seeing as your 13 well you could go for the W705. Thats if your able to get one. If not wait a couple of months for the W508. It doesnt have the LED and no 2.4 inch screen(2.2 instead) but its on par bar the fact that it has no wifi but seeing as your 13 would you really need it? (I am a bit hypocritical there i mean im 15 and im not getting a 508 just for that but then again wifi is a MUST for me) |

I think it's the LG Viewty for me? Any good and bad points about it?
Did a spot check of (new) LG Ku990 Viewty prices on Amazon - the price (~ USD $280.00) is hovering near what a new LG KP500 Cookie would cost.
For that price range, the ViewTY is a lot of bang for the buck - decent touchscreen, 3G/HSPA connectivity, good browsing experience (3 inch display & touchscreen is a very good combo), good virtual QWERTY keyboard, good camera & superb video movie capability.
Couple of caveats though, the sound/music quality is distinctly inferior to an SE Walkman (or for that matter inferior to a T700's). So if you're a music buff the ViewTY might disappoint you in this area - the Cookie might have an edge here.
The 5 megapix camera is good but falls short of fullfilling it's full potential - colors are a bit washed out unless you compensate with the right light & ISO settings. Flash is also weak. Videos in comparison, are very good - 640x400@30fps which was cutting edge at the time it came out. And taking 120fps slow motion videos are fun
Browsing is a joy, touchscreen /3G/ and a 3 inch display is a combo that can't be beat. The built in browser however can't handle secure (SSL) logins, which is why a separate Google email client is included. But you can install the Opera mini browser for the LG Prada which is touchscreen enabled & fixes the SSL issue. Opera also speeds up browsing under GPRS/EDGE (ie. areas with no 3G signal).
MicroSD card is a must, without it the phone will slow down as pics & music clips accumulate. Get at least 2Gig, the ViewTY can handle larger capacities but use your PC to format these. ViewTy format procedure forces the size to 2Gig regardless of what these high capacity cards are capable of.
ViewTy multi-tasking is not as good as my T700's. For example you can only play one java program at a time so using the radio means you can't browse & vice versa (T700 can do both). One of the side effects of this weakness is that the battery power gauge display isn't accurate - it may display 2 bars then suddenly drop down to one bar and empty far sooner than you expect.
The Picsel document viewer is very good - I use it to read Micsoft word,Excel & Adobe PDF files. It's nice to be able to have a mini-library with you at all times and not need a laptop to read them
I've been a very pleased owner of the KU990 for over a year - it does have it's weaknesses but overall it's a very good phone and much more affordable at the current prices.

I'm 14 by the way guys, it was my birthday the tuesday just gone, but didn't tell anyone so i didn't get any virtual esato digs (14 would hurt )
When I was 13 I was kissing girls .....
I was too last week
I have decided to give ANOTHER W595 the chance of it's life, my third handset now. The reason I didn't give up is because i'd miss esato so much.
Thanks for everybody's reviews and comments

There should be sumthin like 08W45 on the back of the battery, the 08 denotes year and the W45 week of production, respectively.

Ive just left SE and never looked back, gone from the W910 to the U600. Its a much better phone IMO, but I'm sure lots of people will disagree.
I have been trying to find a decent phone since Sept 07!!
Gone from:
K850
U600 couldnt stand the orange branding and couldnt get used to it
back to K850
W850
W910
C902 crap phone to be brutally honest
U600 again, not orange branded, I love it
I found it hard to leave SE as I was so used to them, used them since June 2006 when I got my W900 on contract for my 14th birthday (yes 14yr olds should have decent phones) but I am pleased I've left them now. I wouldnt bother waiting for SE to finally produce a suitable phone, why give them your money? Go for Samsung or Nokia. |

It's kinda sad that you guys have problems with the W595. I already have it for 3 months and it's still perfectly fine:) |

going by the phones at work ones built in 08 had worse build quality, wobbly slider (not bad, but noticeable) and sometimes slow menu speed.
with the ones from 09 build has improved, sturdy slide, as well as the buttons becoming more tactile imho. also new firmwares haev improved speeds
