Glad I can do something too!
I finally managed to upgrade via tranced's CDA/customize 'trick'
I guess my phone was a bit messed up due to all my flashing. How I made it work:
1- Flashed clean R3BA035 MAIN + WESTERN-EUROPE FS
2- Deleted anything in /tpa/preset/custom
3- Uploaded contents of upgrade_to_R3EA031.rar (link below) to /tpa/preset/custom
4- Boot up phone and did a master reset
5- Started SEUS update and behold, a CENTRAL-EUROPE update is available.
Customize files: http://rapidshare.com/files/201928401/upgrade_to_R3EA031.rar
The only downside to this is that the FS is slightly branded, 2 icons in the main menu and a theme and starup and shutdown animations.
Removing the icons is not possible as the FW does not allow you to use the theme's icons. The option is grayed out no matter what theme I try. Might be easy to fix with a new Customize.xml?
But I guess it wont be long until generic/unbranded FS will be out.

The upload is done
It also took me a few tries before SEUS updated my phone.
The main thing is to edit the Customize.xml on your phone with the new cda and also upload customize_upgrade.xml to your phone. After that do a master reset and SEUS should offer you the right firmware. I'm going to try the Orange firmware with the 1211-6194 CDA. SEUS is very slow for me, 52% downloaded.
The Orange Customize.xml and customize_upgrade.xml I used are here:
http://rapidshare.com/files/202209640/Orange_CDA.rar
Put them in /tpa/preset/custom and do a master reset.

Flashing is done with Orange CDA, startup animation is branded, but the menu is unbranded, and the default theme is very nice. It has a sidebar that looks promising. I'm sure with some editing of the Customize.xml we can unlock the animations so they can be deleted/replaced and remove the WAP bookmarks and other stuff as well.
Note, the Orange firmware does not allow any themes, you can load them but nothing changes, you can't use the theme's icons too. Such a pitty because the homescreen application is pretty nice.
Thanks for the info Quick-cz!
The Orange is R3EA036, a bit newer thought I doubt much, if anything changes in these R3EAxxx versions apart from branding.
/me "patiently" waits for a generic R3EAxxx version.
I see wotan server already has R3EA036 with generic MAIN+FS, they get it so fast paying SE for updates, whilst we paying customers to SE have to wait forever. Not fair

Cheers tranced!
You think there's any CDA that allows upgrading to a generic R3EAxxx? I'm trying several now, just to see what SEUS offers me. There must be something out there, or will all R3EAxxx have branding some way or another?

Are you sure? I flashed it fine with a2uploader. Did you use 7zip to unpack it? Winrar will not always unpack 7zip files properly.
See: www.7-zip.org for a download, its open source and freeware.

Yep it is. The Orange firmware is nice, but I did not like the way they locked it down. When loading themes it doesnt change the icons of the menu or allows you to disable/change the startup animation. I guess its easy to disable, but I'm not into that (yet).
On another note, would it be possible to convert wotan server files to usable mbn files? Seems they got it in a lot of regions already.
For file locations, Rapidshare sucks if you have no account, I will upload the files to my server, gonna put some firmwares there and original (extracted from SEUS firmwares) customizations and other stuff.

Any differences?
Seems it didn't change a thing.

Apart from the nice standby application and branding I dont think much has changed. Shouldve extracted some drivers like cam and check the md5 with those of older firmwares so check if there's any changes.
It seems these R3EAxxx add operator specific things and branding. I went back to stock R3DA029 and will wait and see what SE will have in store for us generic/non-branded users. Almost seems silly to buy a SE phone from a shop simfree because the firmware updates take ages whilst operators get them faster? It is fun to play around thought.
