where is sony ericsson? |

SCREW ERICSSON! That's what the S part stands for. SE is dying a slow painful death with no prospects of turning the corner in sight. 'Insiders' or those who know somebody that knows somebody who works for SE keep preaching about SE coming good this year. Well, I've heard that last year!
The time is right for a break up and give us Ericsson on their own, this has become pathetic! While SE fans await the 'killer' phone Samsung delievers more than one. Wait for good old Nokia as well, there sure is going to be something stunning next week.
I've been trying to think of a new home for me recently as I can see SE dead in no time. If I get Ericsson back then I won't complain, in fact, I'd kill SE myself!
I am probably going to go with Android or Blackberry unless Nokia appeals to me in more than just software. Only time will tell. |

I've often heard about return rates, though most seem to be anecdotal
where are such return rates officially documented?

are just ridiculous now!
How are they meant to compete with Nokia, Samsung and LG, all of who have vastly superior AND better looking products?
18 months ago I were a die hard fan, now I am begining to dislike their products as much as apple. Oh wait, sorry, Apple at least have the best screen and UI on the market. What do have?
Well, lets give them an award for multiple releases of the same under specified phone again and again for several years with just a casing change.
SE used to be No.2 after Nokia for both features and sales. Now they are behind Nokia, Samsung, and just how the heck did LG even manage to take over, not just with extremely better looking phones, but now in both specification and innovation as well???
Can someone explain to me just what are trying to do?
Samsung already have the amazing Pixon and Omnia, and they have 3 top quality handsets being announced at MWC, Nokia have the amazing N97, which along with the N85 and 5800 music have to be the first Nokia phones that I greatly admire. Then LG have the Secret, Renoir, and the upcoming KM900 arena which has amazing features at less then 12 mm thick, and an impressive 800x480 pixel 3" display.
And give up C901, C903 and some lame walkman phone.
I am no longer a fan boy for because they no longer offer me quality products.

i suppose some could be anecdotal, such as what the occasional chat with testers, repair technicians, and retailers say.
and i suppose what people say on forums about the significant(compared to others) problems found in SE phones over the years could also be anecdotal. in addition, the fact that very few people(i can think of 1 out of many over the years) who have owned SEs that have anything good to say about their 'reliability', but is very much the reverse (anecdotal? nope. none of them have any reason to lie).
and then we read articles such as this:
http://www.mobiletoday.co.uk/news.aspx?id=43454
the trend of SEs long lasting and relatively significant problems with reliability is blatantly obvious.

If I have had two seperate K850s break within the last 18 months, then they arent reliable anymore for me.
I dont believe anyones lies about phones being reliable and robust anymore, heck, the paint has already started to peel off my T700 D Pad. Just what kind of clever person designs phone buttons with paint that peels off with normal use? They are clever enough to use scratch resistant screens, so why cant the buttons also be scratch resistant?

Boy you need to check out how many other manufacturers have problems as well(ex which i can recall atm n96, 5800). I have had lots of nokia and a couple of se's (w900i,w960,w980,w760)...and they seem to be reliable till date.
Everyone's got bad luck, you just need to deal with it(i know its frustrating). None of the electronics are 100% reliable, neither is life, and basically most of the people who visit or sign up a forum, do it becuz they have problems, so looking at a place having majority of the people with problems, does not represent a product.

I read somewhere that the earpiece issue is even more infamous for 5800 users.

i didn't say that other manufacturers rarely experience problems. i'm well aware of them amongst all manufacturers. but SEs problems with reliability are significant, applicable to an extrordinarily large percentage of their range, and consistent over the years, compared to other manufacturers . it all points to quality control that has always been in dire need of reform.

The paint on the upper edges of my C702 has peeled off. But for some strange reason I think I'm the one at fault for it...

Well i should say that im pleased with the material they used on the k310, t68i and the t230. the k310 keys were not so good tho. My p1 is going good so far except for the camera button its all white now. Also my sisters k750 had some good painting and my friends k800. |
