When I'm outdoor I always carry the slingbag I referred to, when indoors I put them on a belt case. So they never get in my pockets after all |

the only purpose i see with big screens is movies.......and if you just going to use your cellphone ordinary...calling, sms/mms, taking pictures, music/radio, etc, etc......what purpose do a 0.2" or 0.4" bigger screen have ???

dude seriously believe me when i say this that it makes a heck of a lot of difference. 2.4 against 2.0 is like God against an ant. And no body in their senses would watch feature length movies on a 2.4'' screen, thats absurd. 3-3.5'' is minimum for that.
The thing is that you've never owned a phone for long with a big screen; I have; and i cant ever go back to a screen smaller than 2.4'' no matter what it offers. 2.6 to 2.8'' is standard for present phones

The bigger screens are better for camera viewfinders/ using the internet, playing java games, just because your c902 still only has a 2.0 inch doesn't mean any screen bigger than that is useless.

How funny!
Just went to see Quantum of Solice, great film i thought, any ways.
James Bond's phone in this film is the c902, it looks really nice and can do some crazy stuff with a simple c902.
Anyways, what I noticed a few things had changed with this certain version, the main thing is that the screen had got bigger! Sony or SE were so embarrassed at the size of the screen, they had to make it bigger for the c902's major selling point!
Sorry I just find that really ironic! |

Just because somebody owns and loves his phone to death doesn't mean that it has to be a benchmark for all future phones. |

Samsung are hoping for world domination, and when I was in Korea and lucky enough to meet the VP, we got chatting for a while - and she asked me what I thought about things!
We then concluded that one thing Samsung wasn't doing well was having a natural upgrade path for consumers. Sure, they'd like the XXX model - but then Samsung goes and changes everything a year down the line. People then can't see what they want to upgrade to, and start to look elsewhere.
Nokia was always good at bringing out obvious upgrades. Same old product (more or less) with new features. Bang, N95 owners see the N95 8GB or N96 and the choice is made.
If Samsung start to do this next year, I'll be very smug, but I think Sony Ericsson needs to ensure they do this too. Don't keep coming up with amazing 'one-offs' and hope the general public will keep swapping and changing. Most people like stability, so they should have at least 2 or 3 handsets that barely change from one year to the next.
Rather like the old Ericsson days, when handsets barely looked any different at all. The problem then was that this was ALL they did. SE must offer choice, but not fall into the trap of releasing the C902 that everyone loves and then axing the design completely next year.

just to add a comment, i think anyone who has owned a nokia 8800(myself) would agree that slider phones CAN be very very solidly built phones( although the rest of the 8800 is quite average and it is a "luxury" cellphone)
As for my take on screen sizes, i've always bought feature phones so i'm used to big sizes, and yea a 2.4" screen compared to 2.0" screens....for me the overall user experience is improved(still not suitable for movies though-do that on my ipod touch). i don't know about plank but i'd b happy to sacrifice the touch sections for a bigger screen on the c902 since it doesn't bother me too much to flick through a few menus for my settings

You just contradicted yourself in the same statement. Feature phones have always had smaller screens - think T610, K700 etc. Only during the past 12 months have Nokia and begun shipping dumbphones with 2.2" and 2.4" screens. On the other hand, smart phones have always had larger screens, right from the days of the P800 and 7650.

but the thing is the nokia 8800 isn't a real slider, but does have a very nice slid mechanism |

My T Mobile contract is now up & there's no decent Sony Ericsson handsets to upgrade from my K750I to so im sticking with it.
Gone on to the Solo 20 sim only deal now so im only tied in to 30 days at a time.
I hate slider phone's so no C905 for me, im waiting for a decent candy bar camera phone from SE ( so that's the C902 out the picture then ha ha ) |
