Can anyone explain me what are mophun games? Something like java games, but not for free? What kind of protection is it? It's locked for IMEI of the ne who bought it? Which phones use it? Does it have any advantages over java? And of course, I'm for free software... but still trying to respect the right to sell software. I think you should be able at least to make mophun game just for yourself...

@marki : Mophun is a platform developed to run games on mobile phones. You pay for a game and then download it. Check out their site for more info.
@cochinillo : I can understand you wanting to make your own games. Have you contacted mophun to ask if there will be or are any utilities to do this with?
I make my own ringtones partly using nokia softare that was free from the nokia website.
Maybe SE would release a Mophun development pack if enough people asked for one.

dexter: do a ring tone its only a midi file in the case of the polyfonic t300 ringtones...in the case o nokia you can convert a midi in a tone.
For develop a mophun game you have to program in c or c++ but when you finish the game you have to send it to mophun and then they firm digitaly the game for playing in moviles. If you dont send the game to mophun you cant play you own game in your own movile.
I have the sdk por develop it but still needed send the game to mophun and for this, the game have to be a completed game and I want to test my games and levels and programs in the movil not in virtual device.And...If i am testing a program than not is a game???I wont play it in my movil never! |

Ok, i have just been onto their site and have had a look around.
If there is noway of testing your games as you develop then surely that is something that you need to get in touch with Mophun about.
There should be a way of testing any program that you create as you go. At least on your pc. Is there not a phone emulator in the package that developers get? Sorry but i find it hard to believe that they expect developers to code blindly.
I know that creating midi files is not the most demanding thing on the planet. I never said that it was. I was using it as an example. I do understand what the process of computer programming is. I never said i was clever because i make ringtones. Its just thats my thing. Im a dj and i used to be in a band. Now i use my computer to make songs.
I dont just convert ringtones using a program for that. I edit midi files using cakewalk and other similar programs. All that i use the nokia software for is to check how they will sound on different phones.
If you dont want to be called a hacker then dont start threads that say you wanna hack stuff.

Sorry, I couldn't resist:
cochinillo, if you don't agree with Synergenix strategies on making profit just mail them, but you should realize thar behind any commercial Mophun game is a developer which has dedicated many hours of hard work...
On your first post you wrote that you will hack it because you can't buy it without a credit card... seems a bit illogical, isn't it? Then, if you ask me to give you my car and I deny, then you just would blow my car? (it's a bit far-fetched, but it's just to get the idea)...
If you want to test your own programs in your mobile phone, just take a good idea, pulish it, work on it and submit it to Synergenix. If they like it, you will be a premium developer, and they will give you all the tools you need (for free!)... From that point, you can test whatever program you want with real hardware.
Also, you said that you have money to pay for them but no way to spend it... Then just wait until a spanish provider gets on the market (i would bet my hands what it will be Amena). With so many T300 on the streets, it's a matter of time.
By the way, the certified .mpns are also encrypted:the same game locked to two different IMEIs is almost completely different at a binary level, so cracking them it's not a trivial task.
So please, stop bugging everyone with this thread... you are playing with people's job!
[[Es una lástima que tenga que ser un español el primero que proponga el tema de hackear Mophun ]]

Yes, they are considering ways to release some public tools, but they give no guarantee about anything.
IMHO, I think they won't release anytime soon, they are really busy working on the next Mophun enabled device...

I think morphun does a very good job. They are a good source for games, the best one at the moment. If you have a look at sides like ziggy.com you see that other sides earn money with less quality games, sounds etc. I think you (the poster) want to earn your money for living. Have a look at the guys from morphun ... they got a good idea for earning money and everybody needs money to live. If you hack the SW you gonna destroy the business. So let it as it is!

I think many of you have misunderstood cochinillo2000
I also would like to be able to develop whatever application/game with the Mophun-engine and to be able to run this on my own phone and maybe give it out to friends and such as a FREEWARE. I do NOT want anyone to make any money of my own code and I do NOT want any Mophun-company to control and decide if my app is "good enough" so I maybe get a chance to test my app/game on my own phone!
I have already bought some games at www.mophungames.com so it is not that I want to start piracy or something like that. I mean $4-5 is not that much for a game.
So, the deal here is to figure out how the encryption works on the mophun-engine and I dont think it will work by doing bruteforce-attacks on the encryption.
I am not a cracker or cryptomaster but I would really like to be able to develop some fine applications/games for my own phone. In fact one of the reasons i bought a T300 is the great game-engine.
If anyone shares my thoughts then please drop me a mail at thebugfinder@yahoo.com |
