I fail to see how the LG KC910 is much better than the C905. Only the screen size and video recording trump the C905, and even then the C905's screen will be a lot crisper, as the LG's screen resolution is almost the same as the C905's despite being over half an inch bigger. Plus the LG looks like any old LG or Samsung or attempt at copying the iPhone... The C905 is truly stylish and different. So the LG may be slightly better spec-wise, but hardly enough to say its great and neglect the C905. And I bet the C905's camera quality is a lot better than the LG.
In regards to SE topping it, well seeing the C905 is so close, I don't think its hard for them to top it.

I'm sorry but its late 2008 and C905 does QVGA res recording. LG does VGA at 30FPS, plays Divx videos. And after seeing the iphone, i have to say anything over QVGA at less than 4 inches is a total waste. And dont forget C905 is bug, bulky and heavy, and honestly, looks like just another slider.
Dont forget LG is moving towards Dolby Audio, and SE still doesnt have a dedicated DSP

Ok, fair points I guess, but you write the X1 off as not great regardless of manufacturer, so tell me how is the KC910 great? How is the Samsung i900 great?

i900 would be called innovative because of its UI(calling it great wasnt intentional). The i8510 from samsung is truly great IMO. The stuff it offers has never even been offered before in a hard screen S60 phone.
The LG phone is also quite exceptional, but you have to understand, the big touch screen phone idea is quite saturated. LG KC910 and i900 offer pretty much every feature there is(top of the line camera, video, GPS, audio, video playback).

Oh I have no doubt that the Samsung INNOV8 is great despite its terrible late 1990s nickname. I wouldn't argue with that. I just can't agree that the LG KC910 and Samsung Omnia i900 are all that flash. Especially not the LG whose specs can be found fairly easily elsewhere.

well you seem to only recognise the negatives and never the positives when it comes to SE so it's a little difficult to have a balanced discussion with you about it. but here goes:
1. A phone doesn't have to have the best specs on paper to be "great".
2. Styling, UI design and form factor design can all make a phone great even if it doesn't have VGA recording, believe it or not
3. Camera UI best available. Media player UI and controls best available.
W910 is a great phone (before you say it restarts and locks up frequently, mine doesn't and many people on the forum have praised the W910 so I'm not the only one who likes it)
C905 is a great phone.
P1 is a grat phone, albeit out-classed now. But it still has some innovative features and unique styling and form-factor. Mayb e you will mention the firmware probs of the P1, yet N95 also had firmware problems yet you mention it is a "great" phone.
W960 is a great phone.
X1 will be a great phone.
Maybe SE is struggling atm to have the highest spec in their handsets, and they get trumped often in that regard, but the overall package is often greater than the sum of it's parts. This is what those people who only look at spec sheets miss completely.

C905 looks nice for me but it’s a little thick, LG KC910 is nice too but wider and larger with a different form, personally i want the best photo camera capabilitys (video is secondary for me) when i look at the specs, and i wait to see the pics of the final products. I’m very satsfied with my LG and if the new one will be like this with a good xenon flash probably it will be my next phone.

Do you think the selling price of W960 (600 US $) makes it a worthy buy? The N85, N82 are will sell for a similar price.
And what 'new' thing does C905 bring to the table? We already have boat loads of 8MP camera phones. They could have added Divx video playback, VGA video recording, bigger screen and sleeker design but i can only wonder why they left that out when the competition has multiple devices with such features.
And please max, why call W910 a great phone? What does it have that makes it great? If W910 is great, then W890 must be the holy grail

X1?
Ok, X1 is a very good phone but great? Nops. What makes it great, innovative? And how much of a credit for X1 should go to SE anyway considering a lot of technical expertise is also coming from HTC
And remember it is window device which is not for everyone. |

Why? The W890 doesn't have an accelerometer and has a smaller screen. The only thing it really has over the W910i is the 3.2MP camera which is pretty much just as average as the W910i's 2MP unit.

Again you are thinking only in terms of specs on paper. This is not the only way to decide if a phone is great or not. You are also mixing up your terms. "New" ie: innovative is also not necessarily a requirement for calling a phone great.
The W910 is great because of the improvements that come from A200 which make a huge improvement over the SE UI without taking away the advantages that the UI has over other brands, because of the accelerometer (DON'T say it's not the first, I know that, that doesn't mean it's not a good thing), the large screen, the slide ergonomics, the styling, the media player features (I use shake for random quite a lot - but imho the shake to change track thing is unusable), the small and light size of the thing, the audio quality (again I'm not saying it's the best - but it's still good in my view).
But the main thing that makes the W910 great is not any one of these things, but the overall package and how it brings those features together.
Another example is my Samsung i780. On paper it's not as good as the Ultimate 9502 (the other WM phone I was considering), but "ultimately" the samsung is much nicer to use and much smaller to carry around, and is still a capable performer. Overall I find it a much better phone than the 9502. In other words it is a "great" phone

Werent you the one who barely noticed half an inch less in screen diagonal on your C902?

i fail to see how three quarters of this thread has anything to do with the original topic..... but any way.
@deaf
personally i find samsung speakers to be very low. not good for you a lot of their models incorperate the loud speaker into the earpiece used for talking. so its a very small unit = low sound. just a bit of info based on my experience with samsungs.
and its one of the reasons i dont buy samsungs, coz i can never hear them ring
so perhaps a then for you. c902 speaker is quite loud, well for me anyway.
though its as if you want 2 12' subs plus dolby/thx etc etc, so it still might not be enough for you
