A technology whereby you can access another person's mobile files (ie pics, music) on your own phone through bluetooth. I remember when i first saw my friend accessing my files through his phone. I was thinking, dang that's crazy!
Nope, it's the "open camera, take pic, send pic" stuff like xironghostx said. |

Really? LOL, so I've mistaken that for Quickshare all this while. But what was that then, the file surfing thing that I first discovered with T610?

I'd say most mobile phone companies are innovative as they, all in their own individual ways, bring something new to the table.
SE was the first to integrate a camera into a mobile phone (T610), spawning a whole new generation of mobile phones culmunating in the C905 - probably THE definitve cameraphone and changing the way people communicate.
Introducing 'video recording' in mobile phones has changed society as YouTube wouldn't anywhere near the size it is today because of this particular feature.
Don't know which manufacturer that was actually - maybe someone could enlighten us.

seems to me most of the innovative stuff started with SE, as many of the posts point out .. other manufacturers have perfected thm rather thn SE being the one...
there is an awful lot of demand frm the user these days ... and if u think as a manufacturer , its not easy for them to fulfill all those user demands ... there are many other factors which are at play here which im sure u all know
i think it wont b long tht cell manufacturers will get fed up and send us a big box with all the hardware and pieces which we demand in a "do-it-urself" fashion hehe .. just like blocks .. make ur own cell phone

Innovation is: K750, P800, HTC Tytn II, Sony Trinitron screen, the first digital camera... When you just start repacking and simply improving the same thing, it is no longer innovation, that is called improvement.
P990i: A mistake, a curse and a disgrace So I lowered my expectations and settled for a P1i. I couldn't keep my expectations so low for a long time so now I have an HTC Touch HD |

I quite think the w380's feature to mute the alarm clock and calls just by swiping your hand across the camera is very innovative, i believe it's called "gesture control"
Just don't know if they were the first to include that feature though...

I think most of the innovation we can't see.
As I aluded to in my previous post, miniturisation is innovative; without it computers would still fill a room and cost millions of dollars.
SE have a 7.2Mbps data card hitting the market very soon; that's innovation. How about the A200 feature of sharing video and still pictures over a video call? I found that mighty impressive, especially as the video file I shared was edited in VideoDJ with effects and still images added.
That's innovative too.

7.2Mbps already out in the market on some Samsung phones so that's in the can. And I don't feel the video/picture sharing over a phone call is particularly an everyday life solution or is it practical unless you like things like shake control. So nope, that doesn't do it for me nor most of the others

The popularity of a feature doesn't affect whether it is innovative or not AFAIK. I bought my wife and eldest son the phones they use and both of these support video calling. Other people I know don't buy 3G phones and those that do don't use video calling and this restricts my ability to use video calling to anyone other than my wife and son. This does not stop SE's implementation of video calling being innovative.
I don't have a Shake Control compatible phone but if I did I would certainly learn to use Shake Control and other accelerometer functions.
