SE simply lost it!
but then i guess that happens to everyone....when SE intro k750 and w800 NOKIA had kinda lost it but then they came back strong...and lets hope that happens to SE too.
i remember i use to persuade everyone one to buy an SE but now when ppl ask me abt a good SE phone...i just smile.
took me a yr to find a perfect replacement for my w800....p1 with W3.

i know main selling point and special features are different things. But you said, "Point is, if the phone speaker is '''the''' selling point of the product like what SE is widely advertising"
Thats the same as saying it is the main selling point. Hence why i said what i said after. If you were just saying its one of the selling points, should have said something like it is one of the selling points. Saying just 'the' selling point makes it sound like you meant the main selling point.
And anyway, they advertised stereo speakers, so? They didnt advertise them as an upgrade to your home theatre. The phone does have stereo speakers. So why cant they state this. Good quality or not, it STILL has stereo speakers.
anyway, why am i debating this
moving on.........................

C'mon, that's just inappropriate use of grammar, you know what I mean. Perhaps my point would be better demonstrated if you tried the speakers yourself and listen to the so called 'wide stereo speaker'. Frankly IMO they don't even qualify as plain stereo speakers. I wasn't disappointed when I heard it, I skipped a level to being straight pissed. Try it before you defend it mate.

Since my k750, no new SE impressed me after all these bugs and issues with its new phones...
SE technology is getting limited and on a slow pace, no breakthrough and losing appeal to me. Their mindset is not working anymore to the general common sense..
I am an admirer but I am ready already if it lost its glory soon.

Why have the latest phone that does everything and lasts for like 8 hours? That would piss me off more than a phone that does *nearly* everything but lasts a few days. Nokia look great on paper but run em through their paces they dont offer the modern user enough performance time. Same with Samsung and LG. SE, although lack-lustre in features atm, by far out perform anything else as a high spec'd phone goes. Im failry confident if you put an SE 3G phone up against anything else on a continuous data call for example, SE would last far far longer.
Of course this is my opinion but I never ever heard someone bitch about an SE battery being flat before 5pm every day. I can think of 4 phones from recent that do though - N95-2, Samsung Soul, LG Secret and HTC Diamond. Anyone out there that knows anyone with one of these will hear for themselves about the battery life. What good is a 5mp camera you want to use when you are out with your mates after work but cant coz you have to save the tiny slither of battery for calling a cab! Sheer crap. I know I wouldnt buy a laptop that was *Absolutely Amazing* but only lasted half an hour on battery (or a diamond that was almost amazing and lasted 7 hours on a battery).
I personally feel SE got it right by taking a phone, slowly increasing the features but at the same time making sure it keeps its stand by and talktime. The other manufacturers will never recover this power loss. They will beef up battery size and make huge ugly phones (again N95-2). I shudder to think of the stand-by on a 16gb version (eg N96).
Sorry if I offended any Samsung, LG or Nokia Fangirls out there. Its just my ramble for the day.

OK, so we've established that battery is the only strong point of SE phones.
Now let's talk about marketing incomplete products like the P990 and abandoning it WITHOUT implementing the features advertised - remember that these features were later deleted from the white paper. The only thing SE could do since the P990 was increase RAM and go backwards in almost all the specs. Hardly innovative and reassuring, wouldn't you say?
P990i: A mistake, a curse and a disgrace So I lowered my expectations and settled for a P1i. I couldn't keep my expectations so low for a long time so now I have an HTC Touch HD |

Well said - I'd much rather take the Marathon runner, than the Sprinter.

dont forget walkman phones spose to have a loud speaker not low speaker .
Actually Walkman does not imply anything to do with the quality of the speaker. It is only music playback through the headphones which is supposed to be good. Look at the Sony Walkman MP3 players, they don't even have a speaker at all. Walkman has nothing to do with the speaker, it is a brand based on the idea of portable, personal music. You brought this up in another topic some time back and you were told this, why do you keep bringing it back?
Also, your main gripe seems to be with cameras. You seem to think a Walkman phone should have a good camera, but we all know this is not how SE have decided to do it. Walkman is for music and not camera. If you want a good camera, buy a Cyber-shot because the music player software in a Cyber-shot is almost the same as a Walkman phone anyway.
There are simple ways around your 'problems', you just need to work it out. Seeing you like Samsung so much, why don't you buy one instead of being here complaining about SE. If SE don't do it for you, then so be it. There are a lot of people here who are very happy with their SE phones.
give ^ a million bucks plz, i've been reading through this silly post and i think Muhammed is spot on |

What a funny post trying to defend SE with the battery comment.
The N95, N96 and other smart phones are running faster top of the line processors, dedicated graphic chips, 16 million screens, some even have dedicated sound chips, huge 2.8in + screen, GPS, DVB-H, WIFI and the list of features goes on and on ...
What does SE has in their phone? They can't get the camera part of their Cybershot (k850i) range to work correctly forget about all the feature the N96 has.
I have the P1i, even though it's not even close to the feature of the N95, I have to charge it twice a day sometimes!
When SE will make a phone remotely close to Nokia's N96 and the battery lasts longer than Nokia, then you might have right to knock on these great do-it-all devices and how bad their battery is. Right now you just blowing hot air out of you know what ... Comparing a fully loaded smartphone to a simple Java A200 one and boasting it's battery lasts longer ... tsk tsk |

You didn't mention you've never tried it, it was just unthinkable that you came to the defense of SE over that shoddy piece of work. That could only mean you've set your standards very low for your favourite brand just as I have in some instances. This is why I am utterly disappointed in SE, for they don't value customers such as ourselves by advertising features that don't deliver because we keep saying "it's ok". They have the right to advertise what they've thrown in to the phone, but is it ethical to advertise a feature that don't deliver? It has "WIDE stereo speakers" but sounds so much shoddier than the 4 year old W800. Where is the sense in that. FYI, W890 never interested me in any way until they heavily advertised the "speakers" which then prompted me to try it. I was disgusted and pissed when I discovered how it really sounded like. Why SE, why ?

im didnt defend or the speaker. i didnt once say it sounded good. i know its not the best speakers. the way your going on about it is as if is not allowed to advertise stereo speakers
all im saying its not a problem for to advertise stereo speakers because it actually has stereo speakers. good or bad speakers, it doesnt matter. its marketing. every company does it. and dw, if you were talking about another comapny id be saying the same thing.
that will be all from me.....

So that's your punchline, do we want to sacrifice battery life for everything else? Not a strong one as it is easily solved by carrying a spare battery to have everything imaginable in the palm of your hands. I do it too but that's not the punchline. The punchline is I use an SE smartphone
