Here's one for you Orange folk. Well a couple actually.

Are Orange ever going to get another UIQ phone? They stopped at the P990i
I went to PAYG and cancelled my contract, I got my new Sim fine, but my phone will now not work on 3G (Currently P1i), is it the Sim or does it need activating by Orange?

Thanks Muchly if you can answer

@apolloa

Well, UIQ is something Orange will get again apparently. They elected out of the W960 (Due to crappy sales on W950) and the P1 just didnt make the cut. P5 is a possibility I have heard. Cannot confirm this for sure tho.

With regards to your PAYG sim, by default they arent 3G enabled. You can however request a 3G one. You should be able to pop into a store and do a "PAYG Upgrade" to one - but most times the sales rep will ask you top up too. Without topup the sales person doesnt get any commission.

I finally got my top-up card registed am waiting for my free gifts the 02 network seems slow also in the small print book under the web bolt ons it states. The 02 web bolt on provides you with unlimted use of 02's 3G/GPRS Mobile data. Does that include edge & hsdpa.

Glad you got it working, but seeing as we have the biggest customer base in the UK, you need to give us a bit of patience when it comes to services sometimes

And EDGE/HSDPA is just a connection speed, you don't pay any more/less for it regardless of your network. So yes, the Web Bolt-On just gives you unlimited access to the web on your phone regardless of what speed it will go at. However, don't plug it into your PC to use as a modem and expect it to be free, cause it won't be.

Lol this thread has gone completely off topic. Oh well. In Orange shop they are doing 3G sims that you top up 5 quid and get the sim card free.

I'm not sure if anybody here works for t-mobile here but hopefully someone will know the answer to this

I'm thinking of moving to t-mobile on the solo 15 planhere, with 350 minutes and 650 texts; afaik there are no other networks offering a deal with this many calls and texts for £15. The thing is I read on the site that you keep your previous number with this plan, does this mean there is no option to have a new number when you register?

by default you get a new number but you have the option to port another number from another carrier

I'm using this solo 15 at the moment. For £12 more you can also get web'n'walk pro with 3GB/month and which now includes full access to t-mobile wifi hotspots and 300 minutes (if I remember correctly) roaming to others like BT openzone etc

600 mins, Unlimited text and 250Mb internet for £23.16inc vat and get a free N82? Hehe. Just thought I would throw that out there...

I would like to ask Daedalus85. Why is Napster download service sooooo slow. Perhaps its a stupid question as you probably cant answer that question. But lately is so poor though i know its seperate from O2 itself i wish they had chose a better download service. It does not even have The Beatles. Finding an artist on it takes ages it just lingers for an age and when browsing through a particular artist it keeps going back to the main menu drives me mad. The tracks themselves download quite fast but the menus are a joke. Quite often it just never loads and thats with full signal on 3G. Whos at fault O2 or Napster. Help.
