I am using the IOGEAR GBU301 Bluetooth USB adapter, which seems to work well. It is advertised as allowing up to 100m range, but I have not been able to verify that.
It wasn't the cheapest unit, about USD 55 IIRC.

For the Belkin users, where do you get the lastest Tecom drivers? |

I use a PCMCIA TDK Go Blue Bluetooth card with a T68i and i have no problems whatsoever.
I had a Mitsumi USB dongle and it was nowhere near so good.

I use the TDK USB, everything works great! plus you can also download the TDK mobile suite for free which gives you SMS and phone book management.
I find it works with good range, is easy to pair with a phone and they are always adding new features.
It may be a little more money but i would say it is well worth it! |

i have the optical wireless desktop for bluetooth. it works great as far as the mouse and keyboard are concerned.
however, i have had no luck as far as the t68i goes.
i can get the computer to recognize the phone and viceversa, but the mobile phone monitor software from ericsson wont recognize the phone! you apparently need this if you are going to do anything worthwhile. now i can use the t68i as a modem. who cares? i would never choose to use it over my cable modem.
i talked to someone at sonyericsson support who said that the microsoft bt transciever won't support "zero-profile" whatever that means. the microsoft people had no idea what they were talking about and could not confirm or deny.
also as far as i know you can't have more than one bluetooth transciever on a computer even if you wanted to. |
