i'm on my third contract phone now, and i don't have a problem with the concept. the phone always is free (or at least discounted) but it *is* yours, once you sign the contract. yes you have to pay the minimum term, but you do get a phone service provided for that money, and if you have any sense you'll get a contract that you can afford with free minutes that'll you use.

i do always change contract (and handset) at the end of the year tho; that way you always have a nice new phone for your money. mind you, i'm already pretty fond of the t68..

You guys should feel lucky, T-mobile in the U.S. wants an arm and a leg for there phones, plus a 12 month contract. Sure I can get the Samsung V205 for $450 usd plus a 1 year contract, I mean we never get free phones of decent quality.
