Yup, I was on Wikipedia searching for that rule of thirds and they said that, too. Supposedly the picture has 9 equal squares on it. Like a tic-tac-toe and we shouldn't focus the centre we should focus 1 of the corners of the centre square. Sounds interesting....I'm gonna put some practice to this to see what happens. Also, I will take every pic twice ; 1 time focusing the centre and the 2nd time using the rule of thirds. So, I can notice the difference and learn. |

Could you explain to us what this "rule of thirds" means when it comes to photography ????
Wikipedia explain it here with a cool demonstration pic
Here are some shots I've taken using the rule of thirds; notice the position of my son, and the trees...
and here, the position of the mountain and the Sky Tower, and the horizon...
Too bad the cam itself sucks, would've been great pictures otherwise. |

What problems has the V630i cam caused to the above shots?

Hey buddies, I have finaly figured it out - the best SE camera is the N82. Just go look at the GSM-Arena blind test

Hey Mario, how does a blind tester rate photos?
Perhaps it was a one-eyed Nokia owner?

I love that movie!!!!!
I have it on DVD.
Back on Topic:
If the best cam phone is one whose photos get praise from many people then the V630i definately qualifies.

You can joke as much as you like - the truth is : The KING in photo/video quality is here. And you'll have to bow and bow deep because the 'nation' has spoken That much for SE's leadership. Hmmm . . . perhaps next year . . . perhaps not next year . . . The k850i not only has lost, but is a bad looser too Go look again and again at the pics and eventually you'll see why.

Is it true that Nokia phones' auto focus is electronic or done via software? We all know that SE phones have mechanical/analog. Which is good. Just like comparing analog zoom with digital zoom. I just noticed because when I zoomed to actual size a picture taken using N95, it looked like a mosaic or something. |

so what? I'm not sure if giving 'the KING' N82 to an unskilled person (i.e. like me) could make him/her become a great photographer.
just my 2 cents |

I agree.
@Mario
Read the thread title again. This is not a Nokia v flaming thread not matter how much you want it to be. Discuss the N82 elsewhere please.

Yes i generally prefer SE for pictures quality though Nokia are very very close. One experiment i die was doing a night shot with no flash of a street and to my surprise Nokia N73 provided better night shot without flash i was shocked. Though in all other aspects SE is bit better. I did the shot with cameras on a wall facing street at night on timer. I know how to do proper test shots so Nokia did shock me. Still prefer my K800i though.
