with its 2006 era specs, I certainly think at 550euros, the W960 is definitely a big rip-off considering the N95-8Gb which beats W960 at every conceivable aspects (except TS) is also selling for about the same price.
Not really.. here in holland, the N95 8Gb will retail for about 660 euro's which makes it about 100 euro's (about $140) more expensive than the W960i.

hi all... do not post often ...but after 27 month waiting for the real successor for my old W800i i find the W960i a big disapointment ... mot only that it looks cheap it dose not come close to some nokias... i am a SE fan ... but i will wait until they will wake up and be no1 again. the P1i is the much better deal and looks better too, the price is ridiculous !!! for the W960i i will not pay more then 350€ HBH-220 bluetooth included |

i like low prices, but 350 euros for touchscreen smartphone with 8gb of storage and 128mb ram, plus the newest SE bt stereo headset, that is freakin hilarious, get real. You think SE is a charity institution now?

Hello .. and yes .. as a Swede I can read Swedish manuals and as
knowing a little in English as well, I can read English manuals.
So could the 3 people at the phone-shop where I bought it.
So yes, we knew a light pressure on the three spots close to camera
and move downwards was the way to do it ..
And please trust me, 3 machines were impossible to use because noone
could open them ..
The big shop in Sthlm has withdrawn all w960i from the shelves
and another huge company in this business have changed the shelf statues
and don't sell anything before December 10 now .. so I am convinced
they are waiting for answers from SonyEricsson what will happen
with these phones.
Btw, I have been working for Ericsson for 35 years and have had all
Ericsson and SE phones since 1987 .. so yes I know when a phone
cover isn't possible to open .. and so do those I complain to.
So, I just wanted to warn you all so you check this problem if you intend to
buy a W960i ..
About price, I don't need to care about price, I want the function and
I want a SE-phone. Price is low-priority.
I have seen too many phones from other vendors just fall apart in pieces .. *lol* .. so that's why.

Agree mate, its highly higly over priced.
It doesnt even have a 5mp camera,Nor a audio jack which for ex a music phone like n81 8gb has,and not to forget the bad video recording capabilities of w960i,which other mid end music phones like 5600 can even do it in VGA.And the green tint problem, doesnt seems to be solved.Considering the quality of plastic used, and while seeing the plasticy stylus, one does get a feeling of low end phone. And last but not least w960 doesnt even feature a dedicated audio chip, like other music phones.and its priced above the range of N81 8GB,N82 which was released at nominal price of 450 euros, which has all features including 5mp cam,gps,3.5mm jack,tv out, wlan b/g and much more it cost only 450 euro for launch price
SE MUST BE MAD TO PRICE IT LIKE ThIS
Yeah, totally agree mate. Either SE has gone crazy or thinks we have. Im an SE fan, but wud hav to b nuts to go for this baby. M thinkin to go for a K850 instead n also a good Sony Walkman Mp3 Player. That way I would get better Music quality than the W810 I currently use and also Gr8 Imaging with the 5MP. Just hope they sort out the firmware issues. |
