K850i is not a bad device per se, however right now it is somewhat overpriced and underperforming IMO, my advice is to wait a couple of months before splashing out on this one.

I think I might do the same after reading some of the reports on here. JP-8 seems a bit wet still. Although the camera is still impressing me.

I moved from a K800i to the K850i (I also had a N95 but I hated the battery life) and its a little buggy but imho alot better package. It took a day or 2 to get used to the new button and lack of joystick.

The only thing I am not liking is the way you have to hold the phone when taking pics - as mentioned many times on the forums you need to hold it in a particluar way to get best results (which are better than the k800i). But i will get used it.

I am a fairly heavy user, lots of calls and texts, use opera as my main browser and nav4all with a bluetooth gps. It all works a treat. Fantastic phone so far (6 days with it)

Got mine today, just letting it charge. So far it looks amazing. I think early problems will easily be ironed out in firmware updates. I should think Sony Ericsson will be updating it fairly regularly as well.

Well, they need to do at least ONE update - and pretty sharpish too.

I just have one question is the ear piece noticeably louder than the K750?

If you want a phone that does everything you need the K850i is right up there. I've got a N95 which I will be selling and between the two the K850i in my opinion is better. The phone is just awesome. The touch buttons are unbelievable, you barely have to touch them!

Not to criticise esato... but forums in general very seldom have people congratulating products, as they go there for help and if a product of theirs works they take it for granted and get on with life, I dont own a K850, and there may be a few bugs in the fw, but the bad bits you hear here, are probably the worst of the worst.

=D

IMHO anyway
