used the same route sainty did (customised uk - r1ca029) to get rid of the
hideous Orange branding, then a FOTA - now fairly stable at r1ca037.
Still experimenting with e-mail client reboots (or not hopefully !!)

when debranding, when i get to the stage where it says select service, the a2 flash guide on davinci site says to select 'software update db3150', is this right? or can i select 'flash custom software'? i would have thought doing the software update one just updates to newer firmware, not actually debrands the phone sorry for all the q, i dont debrand often....
and should i use xp or vista to debrand?

Flash custom software = flash firmware that you have already downloaded
Software update DB3150 = choose any firmware branded or generic to flash to your phone
Basically select software update then choose the CDA/firmware you want to use

FOTA is the ability to choose to update the Fw Over The Air by selecting the option from the menu on your phone. You don't need a PC using this method.

can any one confirm if the new firmware is available for the customized AU/NZ firmware, either on FOTA or SEUS? And how much does FOTA usually cost? and how long approx to do?
cheers
was waiting for this to be moved to Software section

it was about 1.4 megabytes on FOTA so you can work the cost out for yourself based on your data plan

dont even no my rates, as you know masseur, aussie data plans are crap compared to those in uk. i think its 0.03 cents per kb. but if im in a 3g/hsdpa area, should be done quick as with my w910 using hsdpa i was dl 3mb songs in only a few seconds............
thanks mass... can always count on you for help

Any one know if the rumours of a new update to fix major bugs on the 10th of December is true? |

Success....... Voda junk now gone! thanks all for your help...
one bad thing though, the au/nz (apac) firmware i changed to doesnt have the latest firmware, and isnt on SEUS yet either. And i cant disable shutter sound either (i know on the asian firmwares you can, but didnt change to one of themas i wasnt sure if my mms/net would still work properly). Ah well, i can live with that....
