P800 officially out next week |

I can't believe that some of you guys are actually surprised by the price. This is the most feature packed phone available on the market, what did you think it was gonna cost? That it would be cheap? 600 Euros? Get real, even Sony Ericsson's site says that it will costs more than $800...
I agree with Super G, I don't think that this device will be very successful (not even close as 7650 is). P800 is quite expensive as a device, pretty clumsy as a phone and not as powerful and useful as a PDA compared to some of the other PDA's out there (with Pocket PC or Palm OS).

I think the price is fair enough. Remember that this is just the initial price, and in a few months time it'll go down considerably. In norway the price of the 7650 was set to about $1000, and now it's almost down to half of that. I think the p800 will sell pretty well too. Perhaps not as good as the 7650, but that has a lot to do with the nokia name and the fact that nokia managed to release their smartphone first. If se had managed to release the p800 at the same time/price as the 7650, i think we all know who the winner would've been.

Gustaf - Sweden certainly does not have the highest taxes in the world, take a trip to Denmark and check out a car dealer - about 300% taxes on cars. How can people afford to own a car, then? The car prices WITHOUT taxes are the lowest in Europe.
But we have 25% regular VAT as well, so the price of the P800 in Sweden will probably be the same in Denmark. Pants..

yes i also think it+s expensive, BUT, think again, buy a T68i + Ipaq 3870 and you have to pay the same price or more. and 2 devices is more clumsy then 1!
Speed kills, but you get there faster! |

No. But 8910 is far more practical than P800.

Your post really really begs the question: what in your dictionary is the definition of practical?
If you are saying too chock full of features for an everyday phone, then get out of here, because the P800 is a P-D-A-p-h-o-n-e. Yes, like faca and everybody else said, if you want only a phone, get out of here and join the Nokia queue. The 3650 matches the P800 and is pretty good-looking, according to some. |

Maybe he means it's more practical because if someone tries to mug you for your mobile phone (good old England) you wouldn't mind beating then to death with your 8910 but might give a damn about ruining your P800, she's just to sexy! |

Or maybe he thinks money is better spent on a few inches of titanium than 50 different functions on a phone. |

I just want to say what I heard today. A good friend to me works in a big phone shop in Sweden and I did ask him today if he had hear anything if the phone will be out next week as everyone here say. So I did call his boss and asked about it (I really want one that’s why hi did call). And the boss did answer that they can start ordering them now but they will now have them until around 5 of January (according to his contact at Ericsson)
To bad!!!
Another thing (http://www.nyckeln.com/catalog/product_info.php?cPath=21_22&products_id=382) was I link earlier in this topic. At the bottom of that site it says.
“Produkten förväntas komma in i lager: tisdag 31 december, 2002.”
That means: “They expect that the phone will be in there stock Tuesday 31 December 2002”

Please note that P800 is "launched" ONLY where has service centers i.e. Sweden, Emirates and Greece!
That means a lot! Good luck!
Anyway, it is, once again, delayed...
