As a shareholder you should be smart enough to know that there are some laws that strongly protect the consumer. Also as a shareholder you should realize that it will be more expensive for you if you think that the customer base for the P990 are idiots.

@raelrael, I know that I was just trying to say what SE could be facing if they think they can get away with something like this.
P990i: A mistake, a curse and a disgrace So I lowered my expectations and settled for a P1i. I couldn't keep my expectations so low for a long time so now I have an HTC Touch HD |

Really? we were told lots of things were on their way by SE in the past! now let me see how long did the P990 take to arrive......................................
UIQ 3.1 is on its way why would they invest much more in the UIQ3 P1 then?
ps unless you are a large shareholder I dont think SE would take your views too much into account.
One thing is for certain as a business man if I kept letting my customers down I would not expect to keep them |

Guys, take what I am saying seriously. SE is under legal obligation to provide support for the P990 during the product life cycle - at least during the warranty period which is two years. It is not up to some dumbo executive to just say support is over. I just hope that SE legal department is better than their software department so they can advise their executives about this.

I'm Sorry but Cash first! And then I'll leave SE to an other profitable compagny! That's it!
Imagine SE is doing something illegal, what are you going to do? You will suit them? Good Joke. 'Hey my space bar doesn't work it's illegal'
I'm a little bit sinical, I know

It is not about being cynical. If a court orders SE to pay up they just have to pay up, that's it. I'm just saying that I can prove that the P990 in its current condition is a flawed product, pick any number of bugs and ask them to be corrected.... No company likes this kind of publicity it's bad for business.
As a shareholder I'm sure you know how hungry newspapers are for such interesting news...
I suggest that you look up some consumer laws, especially those in Europe, you'll see that I am right.

Anyways, I talk to him almost daily. This R6 update was supposed to be the 'big' update and R7 being the one to clear up all the bugs and thereby ending the firmware updates for P990.
What do u mean he was banned for a week? I don't understand this. Why???

Unfortunately what is more important today is PR and advertising rather than good products the shareholders do not really get involved in the management of the company. All they can do is replace the managers at the annual general meeting if they are not happy with the results but it semms that SE is doing well overall. I know it is not fair but I don't think it is easy to go to court and ask for damages. As soon as we realised it has problems and it was not what we expected we should return it and ask for our money back.We can't go to Court now and say we had problems for 10 months and we want to be compensated for the time we spent.

Actually we can. Consumer law gives us that right for the duration of the warranty. If you take the product to a service center and show them the problem they will reflash and give it back to you. We all know that the problem will not go away, so after the third time they have to replace the product or give you an equal or better replacement. Naturally a replacement will have the same problems...You see where this is going to?
It has happened before and I did get my money (invoice price) from Ericsson after having used the phone for about a year, then I went and bought the next higher model for the same price, so it wasn't a complete loss for them either.

"But it won't prevent this version from being the last for p990"

@Makbil
Do we have 12 months warranty or 24? I am willing to return my P990 if the problem persists. |
