Once again, the N95 has a small battery. SMALL. There is only so much you can pack into a small size. It is physics. It is not as though Nokia makes batteries. They by them just like SE, and the other guys do.

If you would have read my post, you would see that I can easily get 36 hours if I kill apps that are running in the back ground. With UIQ, you have to kill process just so your phone will work.

Very reasonable post. I was an SE fan until UIQ killed it for me. All the P-series phones I had were a joke. It is though memory leaks were invented for this phone. The M600i was what pushed me over the edge to Nokia and the E61. To date there is not an SE phone that can match the E61/E61i in terms of functionality, performance, and battery life.

Not SE bashing, just stating facts. If you can prove me wrong, by all means do so but with a fact or two. Not the usual tripe: "Nokia sucks". That is not an argument.

.... no arguing with that! Oh, well, of course: nokia sucks - my e61 was probably made by SE

P1 is the real beast when it comes to multitasking. In that sense N95 and P990 are just ordinary phones. That + touch screen, qwerty and small size are what IMO makes P1 the best at the moment. But I decided not to go for it as I am extremely happy with my P990 so why should I spend a lot of money on a new phone.

Did you think before you hit the enter key?

Beast is right. Please wait for your UIQ to reboot for optimum performance. Better not run too many apps. Neither my E61 nor my N95 has crashed because of too many applications. UIQ=memory leak. One word: reboot.

Is that the best you can come up with? Better in what ways? It is using 4 year old technology and still screwed up.

Anyway, as or the battery life in the N95, has anyone considered that it is only a 950 mAh battery? The E61/E61i is 1500 mAh, with various other sizes thrown in in various phones. I am lucky to get almost 4 hours out of my 17 inch MacBook Pro. My dedicated Garmin GPSmap 60 CSx will give me only 12 hours straight. I can get about 36 to 40 hours out of my N95 simply by killing unnecessary processes, or not amazing your friends with the cool GPS thingie. People complain and complain and complain about the battery life but for the most part it is not much worse than any other phone with a comparable size battery. As for build quality, take a quick look at the M600i. A thin piece of crap. It is an electronic dust bowl. I can't remember one SE phone that did not have the ability to capture any and all dust thrown its way.

The bottom line is, you pay your money, you take your chances. Nokia has it problems but at least you can count on Nokia to fix them within a year as opposed to the still thriving k800/k790 threads, still thriving P-series threads, and the hope to quickly die M600i threads.

Did you own the M600?I don`t own N95 so i don`t make any comment related to it, since i don`t have any hands-on opinion.

As a matter of fact, i can say in the same way you did that all Nokia users are to ignorant to care about solving their problems.

Am i fair or not?

I have had both. The M600i was the final straw that caused me to purchase the E61, and my N95, while having a few problems in a first production model is still miles ahead of anything SE is currently producing. I have had all but one P-series phone. In my experience UIQ is nice but not great. A touch screen is not that important to me. I challenge anyone to try and type an SMS against me. Me with my keyboard, and the TS users with their hand writing recognition or stylist. UIQ is know to: "reboot to optimize performance". Open more apps, get more reboots. It is just the way it is. S60 does not suffer this as much. Sorry but it is what it is. I have asked many times to prove that I am incorrect but to date, no takers.

SE can do better with the way they make phones but they don't. Bottom line. They feel, I guess, that what they give is good enough for most customers. Well it wasn't for me and I switched. If I have a problem, I can be sure that Nokia will address it much faster than SE ever would.

You are right, how could I ever thought that 80 mb free ram of P1 is better than 20 mb of N95.

Why not:

But of course we'll see. As for now N95 is so far away for that multitasking capacity i.e. unfortunately it will never come close to this.

I m extremely sorry to u. Because u just sound like an idiot. I still have my P910 and its running on the latest software. N u know what? I never need to restart it no matter how heavily I use it and that too for months. And about the new UIQ 3 phones. Have u learned nothing about SE yet. Just take a look at where the P990 was when it was launched and where it is now. So much better and with one more ugrade it will be even better. SE made mistakes with UIQ 3 and they have tried there level best correct them. The P1 is the result of all this. It has around 78MB RAM at start. Tell me why would it restart if it has enough memory? Even the protos works fine without restarting for weeks.
As for proof, why don't u take a look at gsmarena's P1 review.

And i m sorry, again.

No need to be sorry. I forgive your inability to spell, and your sick devotion to a platform that has an almost cult following. No worries dude. By all means lament. It only took SE a bit over 2 years to get the UIQ where is passes as an OS. I am sorry right along with you that they got my money, but no longer. The M600i was the last disaster that I will buy from SE.

Zzzzzzzzz......... I'm sorry did you say something important?

Have a read:
What hasn't changed since the previous models is the type and speed of the application processor. The P1 still uses the ARM9-based Nexperia NX4008 CPU clocked at 208 MHz. Is it good or bad? Well, the latest S60 3rd Edition phones are equipped with 330 MHz ARM11-based OMAP2420 processors, but the P1's Nexperia has some unique features (e.g. hardware encryption accelerator and video accelerator including H.263 encoder/decoder) so in many cases it is much faster than what you could judge based just on its clock frequency. It is safe to say that the speed is OK for this kind of device and its uses.

Another area which remains unchanged (compared to P990) is connectivity and data transmission. Just like the P990, the P1 is an UMTS/GPRS phone, which means no HSDPA or EDGE. Which is a pity. It is also slightly disappointing that WLAN still only supports 802.11b (11 Mbps). The P1 is the only WiFi device with no "g" mode support I own, still forcing me to keep my wireless router working in the Mixed mode. But hey, even the "b"-only WLAN support is still a great news for people upgrading from the WiFi-less M600 or W950. Better "b" than nothing. Security options include WEP, Shared WEP, Dynamic WEP, WPA Personal and WPA Enterprise.

Still old, old, old technology. By the way I am still waiting for you to prove that the N95 can not multi-task as well considering the amount of memory it has.

@Johnex

The voice of reason huh? Anyway, this is a heated debate and these guys are passionate. This is good for SE and for Nokia. Hopefully they will read these threads and see how we, the payers are demanding our phones to be. Nothing wrong with showing your colors for the phone brand you like. Personally I like these guys sticking up for SE and Nokia. I think and this is my opinion that it will lead to better phones in the future. I have been mailing these links to my Nokia friends for them to read. Hopefully someone will see them and notice. The same with SE.
