Ok I have done that successfully and created a playlist although I had to manually create the folders again using the file manager on the phone as if I wanted to say move songs around on my phone to different folders the folder that I wanted to move it to wasn’t showing up when I clicked move.

After I created it again and overwrite the one I created on the pc it works ok.

Thanks althought what a long way round this has become. If I make any changes to the playlist will I need to create the play list again or will it update itself?

At least on the K800, it's possible to edit playlists, i.e. add or remove or even sort the eitries. There is not any automatic update if there should be new files stored in a directory, though. The playlist is simply a list of paths to mp3 files. The entries will remain even if the actual file is removed, and you will not get any error message until you try to play it from the playlist.

i find them both of them equally bloated but my message was that since wmp as it is comes pre-installed, no sense in installing another software just for the sake of editing id tags

fair enough, but it doesn't support AAC. AAC is about 25% smaller file sizes than MP3 so makes good sense on a phone with limited memory space.

I agree that it's a good an option as any if you encode in mp3

it does not matter where you put the songs in the music folder, the walkman sorts the songs depending on the ID3 tag, so open your windows media player, go to media library and drag your music there, then add all the info needed, meaning song title, album, artist and track number. for your easy manage put the songs in the correct folder according to the tag.
