I think 'experimental' had something to do with internal Invidia graphics chips(Go-froce 4800? Only 10 months ahead of N93), which of course no-one took advantage of(game developers)......
Try running Jbenchmark on a W900! You'll understand then....
p990i(r6d), n82-1(20.0.062) * treat people as you expect to be treated! * a-zott platinum/tttt in ~3 years... rip expanded call lists! |

Hi Aware,
I agree the W900 was ground breaking for it's time but it seems like SE have stopped pushing the boundaries for now and mores the pity.
These two devices show real promise and look like being realeased just behind the P1 which although having additional Ram is not even using 2007 spec's. If Nokia can keep on doing it why can't SE all they have announced is the the P1 and in the same time frame Nokia have already released N93i, N95, E61i, N91 8gb lots of new E-Series devices and more devices coming by the end of this year.
If SE only release the P1 and announce the the P990 replacement at the end of this year it won't ship till early next Year if we are lucky. To put it bluntly that's just not good enough. They need to launch new devices with new specs before the end of the Year as other wise they are just falling even further behind and lets face we all want new devices much sooner than that. Even if i wanted to buy a SE there is just nothing on offer that can compete with Nokia's offerings and coming attractions.

what? the rehashed k810 isn't good enough for you? lol
honestly this year so far nokia is the only company that has stepped up it's game... and seems to be really sticking it to the competitors in terms of tech... but that doesn;t mean the market will necessarily respond by shelling out the cash |

w900i was some what a test bed for to test different technologies... 3g. nvidia chip. video... etc..... @qvga, thats the reason .....

N82 looks like the right phone for me, but I'll keep waiting for SE 5 MP phone, cause I know it'll beat N95 and N82!

Mind you we focus on Nokia's competition but there are other players on the market. Moto, Sammy, LG, etc... don't seem to be able to follow Nokia either.
I think we have to admit that Nokia is in a league of its own at the moment.
If sony was to invest heavily in its phone branch (SE), only would they be able to match Nokia in R&D, Design and number of releases.
So to summarise, if we compare to the competitors other than Nokia, SE is not doing too bad. Sammy though might be stepping up its game during this year with the adoption of the WM6 platform and nice design like the F700.
Add to this the release of the Iphone this year and SE could easily finish behind Nokia,Sammy and Apple.
To finish on the subject, I find Moto really silent, does anyone know if they have anything coming other than the Z8 and re-heated Razrs

I have to say- Nokia really are way ahead at the moment! I hope get their act together! It's sad to see Nokia this far ahead! Everyone else just trying to play 'catch-up' and not ush the bar further!
I haven't seen any proof of tomorrow all day! |

I don't know about everybody, but N81 was the Maria's alternative for me and I like it very much for now,so if Maria is awful I won't mind to buy N81

se's been gaining on nokia for a few years now. but recently nokia is on a roll. ive been using nokia and se on and off with se mainly. but recently got an n73 and i must say its pretty impressive. will be stuck with the n73 for 2 years now.
hope se can negotiate with the telco's for a good low purchase price on a contract. and i think this is a reason why nokia is back on the rise again. market penetration is massive and its cheaper to buy on a contract comapred with rival SE models. of course the n73 trupmhs the k800i and w880i is most areas. |

@Dragon Eye,
No as you put the rehashed K810 is basically a K800 in a new case no big deal there then is it. Even the rumoured K850 5mega pixel camera will offer Cybershot and not be a smart phone unlike the N82 that will also now be sporting a Xenon flash which eliminates the only true advantage the Cybershot K800 had.
We all know SE are capable of so much more yet they are just not delivering hell there not even announceing anything with coming soon we are heading towards the 2nd half of this Year already and i really don't want to have to wait till next year either.
