@dragon Eye:

I do recognise that RAM is not enough to have many opened tasks at once. But it is not correct for poster to sound like N95 cannot perform video editing at all which is not true. Only if he knows how to manage the tasks. You may argue this is a shortcoming of N95. That is true. Mobile device will always have shortcomings now and in the future. We must know this shortcomings and to work with/around it.

Just imagine someone attempting to rip a dvd using a Pentium 166MHz PC and then blaming the PC for taking hell a long time to do. Who do you blame? The PC or the person?

you've already twisted your post.....this is not what the initial issue was...

you're pretty much blaming the person cause they tried to edit a video on his n95.. and cause it didn't work you assumed they didn't know how to use it
he did not say it was slow... he said it didn't work...cause it got a memory issue

Mmmmm Ok. Im not a fan of the LCD screen, I still prefer the normal ones.
Camera is still slow. Cartoon like pictures.
GPS can never find me!! Even outside.
I hate the C button, its to close to the RED end button. Keep closing everything... maybe its me but I couldnt get used to it, had to make a concious effort to press C nicely.
Lol and that thing they call a media player... Videos are good Mp3 sucks!! bass boost my ass!!
If i leave the phone on silent I think the squeaking of the vibrations are loud enough to wake you!! Bad build quality.
I cant stand the cursor when browsing of the phone, is there a way to deactivate it?
Browsing wastes more money than on a if you go back, it has to load the previous page, just saves it, upto 7 of them!!
I do like the preview return screen which is ooookay I guess.
And the NOKIO written on the battery cover just freeaks me out!! its UGLY!!

i seriously can't believe you're complaining about the screen... the n95 screen is simply amazing despite only being QVGA.... infact i don't know of any screens on a gsm phone that size that is better...

the only thing i don't like is the lens protecting the screen cause it's thin and recessed

KBR have a bit of patience the gps will pick you up it picks me up in bout two min when i go to view satellite info while waiting...the bars will turn to black once the satellites have found your position...i agree on the bass boost not being as good as the w800 i expected more in that regard.and the standard ear plugs are uncomfortable so i've plugged my w800 plugs into the blokia control piece which i find is really awesome and phones lack this and require you to take your phone out of your pocket to change tracks etc all in all i think you being a bit harsh on the phone because you expected too much due to the hype.

i'm not saying that the screen it self is bad. its just that for such a high end phone why not include a screen of the same res. as N80 which is half the price? if you compare both side by sides, there's a massive difference

sometimes for me the phone will say not enough memory when I try to view a short video recording even though nothing is running. Odd.

I had that quite a bit with the original firmware but have not seen that once, on either of my 2 N95, since updating to the latest firmware

I think its fair to say the n95 is i huge step up in terms of features on a phone but with the exception of the camera most of the features dont work well or impress as you would have been expected to.build quality, ram, battery are just some of the shortcomings this phone has.its a shame that nokia couldnt address these things after the n93.

Hi Bavlondon2,

I really don't understand what was wrong with your N93 but mine the only problem i had was less than perfect pictures in low light otherwise everything else it did perfectly well at the minimum. Both you and Super Chimp's experiences are so far removed from my experience you may as well be talking about a different device.

Trust me a I am very critical of devices especially if they fail to deliver and whilst i will accept a few minor niggles on a new device I also expect them to be resolved quickly. After the 2nd update i didn't need anything else fixing i accepted still photography had it's limitations as does Ram and used a Task Manager that was it. I didn't expect or need anything else to be done. For me to stick to a device for 9months is quite rare and i wouldn't of upgraded to either the N93i or N95.

As for me they really didn't offer anything new or exciting the only reason i sold it was the camera and video recording was not getting enough use and i fancied a smaller device with a good qwerty which the E61 has given, besides the camera being missing it does all my N93 did but with a much bigger and better screen and an even bigger battery and although a smaller processor still the same speed.

Marc

This is not what I am saying at all. What I am saying is that it is beyond the capability of N95 to have many tasks opened and do video editing editing at the same time just like it is beyond the capability of 166MHz PC to rip a dvd in a reasonable time.

If a person cannot understand these limitation of the phone why blame the phone? This limitation is already made known in manual (if the person were to look) and by the phone itself when it throws out the "Memory Full. Please close some application".

Like I said, all gadget/machine are designed with limitations. For example, no right minded person will believe that a car will not flip over when taking a 90 degree turn at 100mph. But if the person still take the turn at that speed and wrecks the car, I think no insurance company will entertain his claim that it is the car fault.

Sorry if my opinion of the n93 sounded bad. I actually think that was more solid than the n95. Hoe can i put it. I can handle my k800 with speed such that i can type fast and handle the phone with ease but with the n95 it just felt so fragile that i had to concentrate when doing things as I thought the phone would snap in my hands. Also i dont like how the screen isnt covered by a housing unit and is completley exposed.

Get one and see for yourself you can return within 7 days right? A lot of people back up the n95 on here but most i see dont even have an n95 so they cant make those claims. I have had one and that it my personal opinions.
