Your right, the grape has the same name (most of the italian wine's names come from the grape's names). What is wondering me is that a french word is frequently used to describe an italian wine. I've just forgot to write what I've mostly drank this week: unfortunately water! I'm watching my weight...

elsapo, sorry! Most of the ones I drink are from California anyway, and Americans have a tendency to prefer French names for their wines (go figure). But I respect the Italian heritage of the wine.

Btw, the French insist that "sparkiling wine" may only be called Champagne if the grapes were grown in that region of France. They also dictate by law that all official signs must use only French words and have a quota for all radio stations that a certain percentage of songs must be from French artists. Funny stuff, heh?
