Is this fw R1CE001 and R1EJ001 only for BRANDED K610i or its even for Unbranded ?? on SEUS ?

Hi. Upgraded to R1ED001 a few days ago and have been missing SMS messages! Sent a test message to myself and found that the notificaton sound doesn't play. On further investigation I've found that trying to play the sound manually gives me the error message "Cannot play this sound". The sound in question is a Sony Ericsson MP3 file called 'Jangler', donwloaded from their WAP site. Has any one else found any problems playing this or any other MP3 sounds? The sound worked perfectly on the previous version of firmware.  |

Yes, I can confirm that some mp3 files can't be played after the firmware updates. I thought it was only my phone, but seeing this post, I am sure it's firmware related. Those are message alerts from SE Website: Jangler, Alien Noise and Pulse. They are playable in WinAmp, K750i, W800i, but not in phones with R1ED001 such as K800i and K610i. |

Hi. I'm new here. I just bought a branded K610i (it says 3 is the brand) here in the Philippines, Open line, un-lock. Firmware version is R1CB001, EROM R3A011. I want to upgrade to the latest R1EJ001. I downloaded SEUS UpdateService_Inst_2.6.4.9.exe from sonyericsson.com. When I used it after installation, it said that I already have the latest firmware and will not proceed to upgrading the phone.
What should I do so that my phone will be upgraded to the latest? And if I upgrade to the latest firmware, will I still have an open line, un-lock phone?

Anyone from Singapore managed to get their K610i updated to R1EJ001 yet? Can't stand having to get out of connecting to WAP or GPRS whenever I accidentally hit the connect button even for a split second! =(

the most useful/noticable improvement for me was the pressing of the internet button. no more accidental connections 'coz you have to press it for about 3 seconds to make a connection.  |

Then there must be something wrong with my K610i. It seems all I need to do to get connected to to press the globe button a split second and the phone will start connecting itself to the network... =(
Phone is branded to Singtel Mobile here in Singapore but unlocked to be able to use any service provider's 3G SIM module.

I have noticed a charging bug, where all the icons show charging is taking place but the phone never fully charges...
If you reboot the phone it fully charges.

Hi! Glad to see someone in the Phils. on this thread.. I also tried the upgrade with SEUS last Friday, but still I have R1CB001. What could be wrong? |

My K610i (latest HK firmware) has an extremely sensitive microphone. When I am in an ordinary restaurant, the background noise is too loud for the person on the other end of the line to hear what I am saying! Does anybody else have this problem? I exchanged my phone at the shop once because of this problem, but no difference. Then I brought it to SE and they changed my motherboard, but still no difference. Is it a bug with the latest firmware? Help please! |

Not my operator. I used to have a K750i and then a W850i. Neither of those two phones ever had that problem. With my K610i, the microphone seems to pick up everything. In an empty room, it will pick up very clearly someone clicking their fingers at the other end of the room. In a quiet restaurant, all the other side can hear is the clinking of glasses and the ruffling of people moving. Something seriously wrong, but I'm baffled because I have exchanged my phone once and then SE replaced my motherboard on the replacement phone, without fixing the problem. |
