exactly, I have only ever written my name next to one thing on ebay and thats as I had 18 x £150 mp3 players.... and that was only a pic with all the boxes together.
I actually some time object to even having pics, say im selling a sealed p990, what would the point of a pic be? Am I really going to run off with 500 quid?
Without sounding like a snob, I really dont think any of the trusted traders are going to run off with 500 quid as its not worth it, if a item is not as described or a buyer is not happy I will help them out and sort out the problem, I think this is the same with most of us.... I did once deal with solid on a 650 laptop and it did come wasnt as described I made a quick complaint but never followed it through, butfound it difficult to deal with him at the time, now I know him a bit better im sure I could of done somthing about it
Check out my sales I am a mac fanboy . I will honor Laffens gift of P990 flip free avartar, but I sold the p990 |

Yeah but the point being say you did have a sealed P990i to sell, i would rather see a picture of it and the name and date than nothing at all wouldn't you?
It doesn't matter whether an item is sealed or not a picture paints a thousand words and will put people at ease.
It only takes a couple of minutes to write your username/date on a piece of paper and to take a photo of the item.
There is no harm in that surely, i am more than happy to do that with anything i sell on here.

One thing I have noticed here is that.....
You dont know if the person is trusted due to being a SELLER or a BUYER.... How do you know what transations were done.....
As a BUYER all you do is pay the person... its quite simple... Unless its a TRADE.
As a SELLER there is more responsiblity on you as you have to sell the item, describe and also post it off...
I would personally think twice if I was BUYING from someone who have never SOLD anything here before. As it doesnt show that they are responsible in that way.
Whenever on EBAY... I do the same thing and look at buyer comments and seller comments before getting involved.
I have a suggestion to make and see what people think....
Next to each sale complete and when feedback is left e.g.
SE-Naz (25/08/2006)
There should be an additional code as such....
E.G. (B) = BUYER (S) = SELLER (T) = TRADE
This should be made the responsiblity of the people that leave the feedback to do, so its easy to manage and can be updated without any issues by Mike....
E.G. So it looks like this
SE-Naz (25/08/06) (S) or
SE-Naz (26/08/06) (T) or
SE-Naz (27/08/06) (B)
This will confirm... to the the potential person getting involved what there HISTORY is...
Hope this helps
Cheers

Hi all,
I actually think SE-Naz's idea above is a good one, so far i have only sold one thing on here and i sent the phone prior to being payed because i knew it was as described and i trusted MercMan would be happy and pay as agreed it was a judgement call. The sad fact is it really does not matter what feedback some one has or how good the pictures are if some one decides to screw you or rip you off they will.
The only thing the trusted traders list can do is act as a guide as to whether some one so far has been a man/woman of their word or not. Leaving accurate feedback good or bad helps but it is not and can not guarantee anything other than too much bad feedback and no one will buy from you. How to resolve things when they go wrong is a whole other issue and certain individuals can and will implement different actions as is their right.

the most important thing is at a deal, trust and respect. i dont take care who has plus or minus, thatswhy i usually call the one i deal with, thats enough for me.

@Dogmann
Thanks...
At the end of the day I will always say... Be sure that you want to do the deal.... But the idea I have which I feel would be good if implemented... Would clear out the IFS AND WHATS......
As there are plenty of people who BUY BUY BUY, but when they sell, they are trying to sell an expensive item... I will straight away think TWICE.... just due to the fact they have never SOLD before. SIMPLE....

The idea of forcing people to post pictures is poor in my opinion. Nobody should be forced to do anything, if you don't like the fact that a seller has no pictures then the answers is extrememly simple....DON'T BUY FROM THEM! You're not forced into entering into a deal for every single phone that is posted for sale so why kick up such a fuss about it, if they fail to sell it because they couldn't be bothered to post pictures then that is their problem
@ SE-Naz
I agree that is a good idea and it is something that I have both thought about and had suggested before, more than once, but I'm afraid that there is not a hope in hell that I am trauling back through the nearly 3000 posts over the two A-Z threads and marking down which were buyers, sellers or traders. Not even everyone states that in fact.
Sorry but I'm just not doing it
While it may be a nice idea remember that this is only a forum and not primarily a market and I simply don't have the time to put in to achieve things like that now.
Also it would still not solve many of the problems that people encounter as some people would still have a bad experience, some would still find a previously good trader turn bad and some would still find that they don't trust the feedback anyway.
Sorry to sound like I am refusing every idea that is suggested but if you consider how the A-ZoTT started as such as simple idea it is surprising that it has become this big really

@MikLSP
Thanks for getting back to me...
Im not suggesting in anyway that we go right back to all the old deals and do this...
This is a suggestion on how we can move things forward.... By implementing this would improve future sales.
It would be a lot of work and that is not fair on you. But I would suggest that we look to start this now though. Maybe at the start of OCT as a new feature with date Linked to the POST too, which you already do in SE-NSE.
EDIT...........
Possibly just to do it for the BAD TRADERS... ONLY THIS NEW SCHEME... So people are aware... and for all TRADERS as of OCT...???
Cheers

Currently on se-nse I only link -ve references to the actual posts and don't plan to add it for all references.
Starting to add buyer, seller or trader tags could be a possibility though I wonder how it would look to poeple who are unfamiliar with the system if only some of the references are accompanied by these tags.
I'll gove it some thought though

I am only talking about linking it -VE Posts too.
Im not 100% sure how it should look.... All I know it needs to be kept simple if implemented....
Cheers for that MikLSP
