usually gives you more for the price and size. Sure the N93 is amazing, but we have to wait and see what the P990 brings for real.

The P990 and the N93 are both out this week according to here:
http://www.mobiles4everyone.com/index.asp
And they are both available for £29.99 (GBP) on 18 month (£30 per month) contracts! Ah, decisions, decisions!
I would like to have a play with both of them first - to see how fast hey are and how stable. Has anyone had a chance to compare the final release versions of tboth these phones?

I wish that the phone company's in my country (jamaica) had those plan things, where u just pay a small amount of money for the phone and then u just pay monthly and the phone is yours, but no you have to pay the price that u guys would pay and 50% more plus u have to buy phone cards to use the phone, this is highway robery.

Even on contract the standard price of the phone is about £150-£200, its only on the expensive contracts that the phone is cheap, same goes for the P990i.

Hi all,
got to agree with Mario on this the N73 is simply stunning much much faster than the N70 nicer shape and form and the screen is large and very bright and clear, PC suite is fast and so far am very happy just awaiting memory card to arrive to test music. video and pictures but even e-mail setup was painless and the browser is really good also.
Marc
On looking in the download section found i could download YahooGo once more so this means proper push e-mail and no stupid setup required wooohoo, plus you can upload photos direct to your yahoo photo albums almost forgot as i don't use it but it also gives you messenger and last but not least the browser which is Safari variant is really fast and has some neat scrolling functions kills Opera in all ways.

Called OneStopPhoneShop this morning, because i see the pre-order sign has been removed from the N93 (so i assumed they'd be in stock).
They said another 2-3 weeks till they get the phone !

Definitely the SE P990i for me, i wont ever bother touching a nokia phone and a symbian phone at that especially their pathetic s60 operated phones. Ive had the 6680 which was slower than a donkey and absolute crap to be honest, even my 55 yr old mum couldnt stand the phone.
Then i bought the n80, what a terrible pathetic piece of **** again, great features but the crappiest implementation of them. Opening the web browser caused it to crash all the time then theres the build quality. Christ that slider mechanism was shite, my unit felt like it was going to break into 2 lol. Plus it was a brick, felt so uncomfy being in my pocket. So off that went for a refund after 2 days of trying to get used to it.
Now im looking forward to my SE P990i which should be with me tommorrow morning fingers crossed. Yes i know its a big phone as well but that doesnt bother me too much as its an SE product so it will have decent build quality compared to the n80.
Would i go back to nokia??, hmm at the moment no i wouldnt but should they release a phone thats fast and user friendly then perhaps i would. But to be honest, im glad ive gone back to SE...i already have the W810i which my mum uses and is a lovely piece of kit then my new phone, the k800i which is absolute joy to use and the camera is brilliant on it.
Oh btw i read from a review that the p990i camera is much much better than the n93...so go figure eh?? |

@Spawn - I don't know about your mother but you certainly are a SE fanboy For you there is only one option - and one option only. Yes, SE do make nice cells but they do have their shares of problems too. To compare the already outdated P990i to a N73/80/93 is not fair towards SE. Unfortunately this is the best what is offered . Talking about system stability - the P990i is so full of bugs - SE themself are not sure about its launch. The S60 is crappy too but certainly the more mature. For serious work I put my money on WM5 (more pda then cell) the S60 is more cell then Pda - and where does this leave SE's OS ? No where . But then again there will be a handfull of fanboys like you who will pay 600+pound for a P990i and never see a thing wrong with it. Greetings from South Africa. Mario

@mario, isn't it obvious their will be SE fans here, incase you hadn't noticed its a SONY ERICSSON FORUM! You are obviously a NOkia fanboy, and is nothing wrong with that if thats your thing...
You said the P990 is already outdated compared to n93/n80 but it was you who started this thread! So what was the point of this thread in the first place?? Just to say how great you think NOkia is??

@mario2002
re: WM5
have you ever used WM5 on the HTC Universal? Awful implementation on a UKP600+ device. Very slow for a 520Mhrz CPU device. It is very easy to implement a good OS badly. Symbian 9.1 in telephony terms is ahead of WM5, but WM5 implementations (such as the TyTN) are better for some users that need a PDA in priority to a phone.
