For those having trouble ESPECIALLY with WinXP SP2 (as this is the first Windows OS that supports bluetooth directly upon fresh install; SP1 had a makeshift install that was very buggy) - HOW MANY BT Icons do you have in the system tray??

1) I'm willing to bet you have more than 1. If not goto Start> Run: (enter) devmgmt.msc (enter)
Device Manager loads. How may listings under Bluetooth connections do you have here? Betcha there is 2. if so THIS is the issue why > Control Panel> My bluetooth places isn't accessible fully.

2) somehow you'll need to uninstall the Windows listing for Bluetooth and delete registry entries for Bluetooth.

^ PLEASE FULLY LOOK THIS UP BEFORE TRYING!

thanks hope that this sparks a few ideas for those more savy with regedit.

Personally I've deleted all BT registry entries before I installed my DLinK BT unit, then when I uninstalled that BTv1.1 device. I installed the BlueSoleil unit.

Was driving me INSANE that the BlueSoleil I coudn't SEND files from my PC to my K790a so I uninstalled it but cannot for the life of me get Windows XP SP2 to install its original drivers back again

I'm at work atm .. and at home in one of my OLD OLD notebooks regarding pocketPC connection to WinXP SP2 had a very informative step by step link.

I'll see if I still have it > Yeah I have "pack rat" storage issues like my mother - which is habit I cannot break - but I'm more organized.

I'll keep ya posted.

is it really so hard to use a bluetooth software in a computer? I'm asking because I never experience any problem with the one that I had now. now, the previous one that I bought off eBay gives me a million trouble (can't connect phone to comp, plugged dongle isn't recognized by comp, sometimes it is recognized but software can't load up, etc etc etc). it came with a widcomm software I think, or something sound like that.
