Ugh they were useless with me the losers are actually sending me my PAC code!
They wouldn't budge on the £179.99 and the best I could get out of them was £14/m, meaning I'd still be paying £60 per year over the online price.
Any better contracts out there or should I just sign up with o2 again?
[BTW can someone point out where I can find this £49.99 + £19/m deal, because the one I saw on the o2 website looked more like £49.99/m (the 3G deal).]

The first guy I spoke to offered it to me for £119.99 - by mistake I think. When I went through to the contract cancellation people the woman said that she had to abide by that offer as it was written down in the notes.
I think I was lucky on two counts - firstly that the first guy put the £119.99 in the notes, and secondly that the woman reduced my monthly payments to cover the £120 initial phone cost.

O2 phones are always unlocked and are virtually unbranded. This is why I always get O2 phones
If you want an Online 50 (50 mins, 200 texts pm) you can get it for £277.99, or even £242.99 if you buy through Quidco.
Personally I would never buy a SIM free phone unless the price was fantastic - why not just get a contract for the same price that comes with an unlocked / virtually unbranded phone (which you can totally unbrand yourself at a later date if you like)?

Can someone post a direct like to the o2 deal that is £49.99 for the phone and £19/m please?
I've looked on the o2 site and their student site, and he cheapest I can find is Free on a £30/m contract.
They have a 3G contract at £49.99/m, maybe that is what people are thinking of?

Most O2 payg phones ARE locked to O2. O2 contract phones come unlocked. |

Right, just spoke to a very charming if not slightly confusing lady at O2 upgrades. She confirmed that the phone would be available for upgrade 28th (did she mean 26th???) and with my current tarriff of 30 quid on the online 200 deal i would have to pay £119.00 for the phone then 12 months of 30 quid.......WTF!!! O2 your having a laugh arn't ya!!.....Anyway, she said if i phoned back on the 28th (again did she mean the 26th???) then i would more than likely be able to get the phone cheaper (cheaper!!....hopefully for nowt!!!) on my same current tarriff.

That's very confusing. Even after you pick the £19/m tarrif it only has the options of:
- Sony Ericsson K800i - 3G (Pre-Order): £49.99 per month
- Sony Ericsson K800i + Online 200 (18 month) - Pre-Order: £30.00 per month
- Sony Ericsson K800i + Online 400 (18 month) - Pre-Order: £45.00 per month
None of those appeal to me - If I'm gonna be paying £30/m I sure don't want it to be for 18 months! O2 seem to be valuing this phone very highly compared to what the K750 and K700 were before it.

@Jar99 Where it say pay monthly £49.99 next to the phone, it means the phone costs that price on a pay monthly contract. But the £49.99 is a one of payment after which you will only have to pay the £19 per month. Just add it all to your basket and you will see. |
