what i feel is that when a new phone is launched, its priced steep.but after a year, the price becomes almost half of the launch price.when i bought my K700,i paid Indian Rs 21,000.now the price is Rs 8,500.this price drop simply makes us feel cheated(i have talked to atleast 3 people in this forum who feel the same about their K700).cant they make a price structure like in the this case,if the launch price was Rs 15,000,i wont have cared for the price drop.they could also have sold more number of the phone thus balancing off the low price.also they should not have reduced the prices so drastically when newer model are launched.
these reasons has made me put off my next purchase.

Welcome to the wonderful world of technology. Price drops are no different to any other kind of tech. related item - early adopters always have and always will pay a premium comapred to those who wait. Besides, in terms of mobile phone life cycles a year is ancient anyway.
For example, do I moan becuase I recently spend almost £400 on a graphics card, now only to see the price dropped significantly? No because I was prepared to pay a premium to be there at the start.

PHones and technology will depreciate just like anything else - just look at cars!

I've had four cars so far, none of them new, and have still probably lost a lot of money - thousands - on them through depreciation.

If there were no depreciation, my 6 year old Corsa would be worth £9,000 and you'd have to pay £200 for a Nokia 3310!
