Hi Cye,

Thanks for your support. Enjoy using the registerd version of iWalkman.

BTW, I'm working on another minor update that has some more local language fixes in it (the current version of iWalkman doesn't like having a comma as the decimal separator and so it's triggering an error when you first open the Preferences window while running on non-English versions of iTunes). I'll drop you a line once I have it finished.

Take care...

Hi All,

I've just released a new version of the program with some minor fixes and enhancements. The program has now been renamed from iWalkman to iTunesMyPortable in order to indicate that it will work with just about any portable audio device and not just the SE Walkmans. The update can be downloaded automatically via the program's Auto-Updater utility or you can download it directly from the program's new web site at:

http://www.iTunesMyPortable.com

Here's a list of changes if you're interested:

Version 1.03.0012 - October 31, 2005

- Renamed program from iWalkman to iTunesMyPortable.

- Added new progress/status dialog boxes that display while analyzing tracks and when re-ordering tracks.

- Added advanced option to preserve the playlist order when copying audio/video files to the Mass Storage Device (on by default) (see Help file for more info).

- Added advanced option to group podcasts by their album name (on by default).

- Changed valid maximum character length for folder and file names in advanced options from 10-100 to 20-200 characters.

- Updated "Always on top" setting in Preferences to include control over progress/status dialog boxes as well as the Preferences dialog box.

- Expanded synchronization statistics to include more detailed information on skipped tracks (such as network audio streams, non-downloaded podcasts, network shared files, etc.).

- Changed program license to include up to two portable audio devices (phones, portable music players, Sony PlayStation® Portables, etc.) per license. Site licenses are available for 3 or more devices by contacting sales@iTunesMyPortable.com.

- Fixed overflow problem when working with more than 2 GB of audio/video files.

- Fixed problem where copying files to the Mass Storage Device would fail when using the "Organize audio by category" setting in Preferences or when converting audio tracks.

- Fixed error that occurred when opening the Preferences and Advanced Preferences dialog boxes on Windows installations that use a comma for the local/regional decimal separator.

- Updated Help file, ReadMe file, and License file to reflect program changes.

iTunesMyPortable Version 1.04.0014 Now Available!

Hi All,

I've just released a major upgrade for iTunesMyPortable (which used to be called iWalkman) that has LOTS of new features, enhancements, improvements, and fixes.

There's a new "Track Dropper" feature which is a graphical representation of your Mass Storage Device that appears in the main iTunes browser window each time you connect your portable audio device to your computer. You can use the Track Dropper to quickly send tracks from any iTunes playlist to the Mass Storage Device by simply dragging and dropping them onto the Track Dropper.

There's also a new "Autofill Device" feature that basically mimics the autofill feature in iTunes for the iPod Shuffles. It allows you to quickly fill your portable audio device with a random mix of songs (and/or videos if you’ve so opted) from the indicated playlist until it is full or until there are no more items remaining in the playlist.

You can get more information (including lots of new screen shots) on the iTunesMyPortable web site at:

http://www.iTunesMyPortable.com

If you already have iTunesMyPortable (or iWalkman) installed, just run the program's Auto-Updater utility to download the new update.

I hope everyone enjoys it!

This looks like nice enough software but...

All the images on your site seem to be broken?
And personally I think that $20 is pretty extortionate, especially since a very similar piece of software for OSX that does much more (video conversion as well) is only $12.

I'm sorry you feel that way. Personally, I feel that $20 is cheap at the price. No matter what I price the software at there will always be folks that won't be happy.

As for the images on my web site... Nice catch! They should all be fixed now. Sorry about that.

Thanks for your feedback.

Looks like a great piece of software, however, I cannot get it to sync to my device as it says there are no valid items in my playlists - my playlists contain mp3 and mp4 audio files. None of the files I am trying to copy to the device are protected files or have been purchased from the iTunes music store.

Can someone please tell me what I am doing wrong, and how to get the program working, as until it does, I am not willing to pay $20 to purchase the program.

Hi jonzo247,

First off, are you sure that you've selected the proper playlist that contains your MP3 and/or M4A files of interest? If not, you can do that by LEFT-mouse clicking on the iTunesMyPortable system tray icon and selecting your desired playlist (or playlists) from the popup menu that appears (the Library playlist should be selected by default). Alternatively, you can select your desired playlist(s) from the Preferences dialog box as well. Just RIGHT-mouse click on the iTunesMyPortable system tray icon and select "Preferences" from the popup menu that appears.

Also, you need to make sure that the MP3 and/or M4A files in your selected playlist are checked for playback within iTunes itself (i.e. that they have a check mark in front of their name in iTunes). By default, iTunesMyPortable ignores any items in your selected playlist(s) that are not checked for playback. If you want to change this behavior (and have iTunesMyPortable consider all items whether they are checked or not), you can do so in the iTunesMyPortable Advanced Preferences dialog box.

Lastly, are you sure that the songs in your selected playlist(s) are indeed MP3 and M4A files (and not protected M4P files or some other file type that's not being recognized by iTunesMyPortable)?

Does that help any?

Hi c0de,

No, I'm sorry but iTunesMyPortable (used to be called iWalkman) doesn't work on a Mac (and never will as I don't do Mac). However, if you search through this thread, you will find that I've posted the names of some Mac programs that will allow you to sync your K750 with iTunes just like iTunesMyPortable does for Windows users.
