Do the p series phones boast of as a good a camera as the k750i or mp3 features like the w800i? In which way do they outclass the non-smart phones?

you can install mp3 players in p series, which is better anyday.

What about any symbian antivirus?
There are a host of brilliant anti-virus apps out there. I'd rate F-Secure and Simworks' apps as being the best available at the moment. F-Secure gives you a trial version, but above and beyond that their site offers very regular updates on what's the latest regarding virii. The Simworks app is a lot smaller than F-Secure but nearly as good.
The only threat you have from virii is when you download from dodgy sites, or when you leave BT turned on, both of which are elementary errors to make.
There are even sites which allow you to upload any suspect files so that their software can run a thorough check before they report back to you. All in all, there's no real threat from virii if you take basic precautions.
I'm not superstitious, merely mildly stitious. |

Not at all....there are phones running Windows Mobile OS, Palm OS which are also smartphones... Imate, Treo to name a few...thjese aren't Symbian devices....but are in many ways smarter than those that are

I thought PalmOS cannot do multi-tasking. So how can it be smarter?

There are fewer or no known virii out there for these OS's than there are for Symbian S60... I guess thats smart enough

@BlueQuill
The currently available P series phones' cameras are nowhere near as good as the camera on k750 / W800, however the camera on the forthcoming P990 is expected to be at least as good.
The P series phones do support MP3 playback and in my opinion the sound quality through the supplied headphones isn't too bad at all. I suppose the biggest advantage in this area over a K750 or W800 would be that you have a wider choice of media players and software add-ons (graphic equalisers etc.) since, being a smartphone, developers have more flexibility to write such software.
However, since the W800 is designed specifically to be a music player / phone I suspect that the sound quality is better than on a current P series phone. Having never used a K750 or W800, I can't really confirm this.

@bluequill ...
Having used both, the Pxxx series and the K750/W800...Id agree that the cam quality on the Pxx series is way outclassed by the k750i/w800....but you must consider the fact that the Pxxx series were never designed as imaging phones....and never positioned in that category. They were more of a business users phones, with a cam thrown in as an addon.
The sound quality happens to be pretty good on the P series, and the ability to support 3rd party applications like Smartmovie and Power MP3 ( .ogg files) adds an advantage over the k series.
As far as the 6680/81 goes, it certainly has a better cam than the Pxxx series, and is most certainly one of the better phones from Nokia in recent times. I think it may be more appropriate to compare the Pxxx series with the Nokia Communicator series...than with the other S60 devices

Given the type of questions that you ask (I don't mean that as an offense, but your questions reflect your knowledge in respect to Symbian), I think you'd be better off with a Nokia.
6680 is 3G, and I'm pretty sure that is its only advantage over the P series. Oh, and the camera is better...
However, having a 8 MP Nikon makes me totally imune to camera specs in a phone... |

What about the 6600 as a symbian phone? Is it ok enough?
