My first post, and i'd like to praise this remote. Firstly it is a bit stupid of Sony not to include a remote like this with their phone to begin with.
As to a post earlier saying that getting the phone out of your pocket to change the tracks is just as easy... i disagree, i ride my bike alot, and it's a hell of alot more practical to be able to change the tracks at a switch of a button on my coat then stopping the bike, getting it out of my pocket and then changing the track.

As to the size, it isn't that bad at all. I've bought this phone to replace my 2 year old Sony MD player, and the remote on that is huge compared to this. i have taken photos of both remotes next to each other, hopefully available for you all to view. also i have taken pictures comparing the size of the Touch remote with the W800i and the stock hands free unit.

It only cost me £18.99 on ebay. Bargain.

And the colours on the remote are identical to the phone... i was much impressed.

P.S. Greetings and salutations to all

Could you adapt another remote control to use with these phones?

But, how does this remote interface with the phone? Does it use the USB pins, or are there dedicated ones or something?

It uses the fastport.

The fastport can be used for more than just charging, and the headset you know.

I have bought one of these and was not satisfied with its H/F quality. The receiver of my calls says they always hear a wavy pattern of static in the background (the same sound you hear when you put the phone too close to the computer's speakers). I am not sure if it is only my unit that is defective, but shouldn't the SRC 100's H/F quality replicate the HPM-70's?
Because when i use my HPM-70's H/F theres NO background noise at all.

Well, maybe the supplied earphones aren't as good quality or aren't magnetically shielded properly or something. I'd use the earphones from the HPM-70.

Anyway. I know it uses the fastport, I can see that, but does it send commands to the phone over the USB pins of it, or are there specific pins for controlling the phone?

Well I did use the stock earbud but that shouldn't effect the RECEIVER's side reception =(

Unless the microphone quality isn't as good as in HPM-70.

Nvm, it might be just reception issues.
