Ah, OK, thanks sapporobaby. I was hoping you had a w800i on R1L firmware - like me! My HBH-610 is OK, but I'm always looking for the ultimate BT headset! If the Plantronics worked well on a w800i on R1L, I'd have a workaround until a stable firmware emerges...

You might want to check out the Plantronics. I am a SE man through and through, however, I have started to see that different venders offer different services, applications that are appealing that are not offered by say the incumbent. While I will remain true to SE, I will still look around at other venders.

Got one a oh these to replace the somehwhat useless HBH-610 and I have to say its a fantastic little headset.
Very comfortable, and the sound quality at both ends IMO surpasses the 610 in every way. Had no connection issues, and the multipoint works fantastically with my K750i and W800i.
The charging options with the Plantronics are pretty cool too. Would definitely recommend it.

Cheers Mate,

Were you recommended this headset by the SE dealer? I find it funny that my SE dealer recommended this over the SE headsets. I do have to admit, the 640 is quite nice and the sound quality is very good. I find that I have to turn down the volume which is something that never happened with my SE BT Headsets.

No, purely bought it from good past experiences with Plantronics products which were excellent (both fixed line headsets and their M1000 and M3000 BT headsets). Always been impressed with Plantronics stuff - especially their BT headsets which always work exactly as they should do with just about any phone you like and perform really well.

SL33PYH34D...
One final question - what firmware are you using on your w800i? It's >*<<*<* where ">" is the joystick direction, in case you don't know. Thanks in advance...!

Currently R1N035. The handset is Orange branded. Works fine with my SIM free K750i (also R1N035) too.

Folks,

Got it confirmed today that there is an issue with the HBH-610 when used with more than one phone where one or more phones are BT V2.0 ...

Basically you need to keep re-pairing the headset to the phone to get it to work.

SE are looking into the issue and will get back to me.

might help future versions but doubt se will do anything to help us existing users of 610 unless they decided to downgrade bt to 1.2 on k750 and alike phones, highly unlikely!!!

if they released fix in form of flash for 610, still noone does that so would be pointless.
well at least they are aware of the issues so future buyers beware before buying check firmware on the 610 once the fix is up and confirmed here on esato.
by now im even resigning myself to the fact that se uses us as beta testers lol, just hope the ones employed in such function are fired since obviously theyre not doing their job and theres no point se wasting money on their sallaries.

well thats my rant!!!!

P.S. lots of thanks to happycheesecake for his info updates behind enemy lines!!! HEHE

Just out of curiosity, does anyone know what the latest firmware is for the 610? I have a 1RA or something like that..... the last I heard there was a 'B' version floating around.... but the interesting point is whether these can be flashed ..... fingers crossed they can else i'm gonna get myself a 608 which I know works very well with the k750.

Directly from the horse's mouth:

Quote:
With regards to your enquiry, this is correct behaviour, it is only possible to have one product paired to the HBH-610 at the time. If you would like to use another product (phone, pc, pda etc) with your headset you always have to pair.
When you return to the previous product you have to pair again.

WTF? SE, you've have got to be joking, yes?

Mine is R1B but it has all the problems mentioned by others in all of the HBH-610's problem threads.

I've just sold my (awful) HBH-610, and bought a Plantronics 640, and the difference is unbelievable. I thought my problems with the SE HBH-610 were to do with the fact that my w800i's R1L002 firmware is buggy with Bluetooth. After using the Plantronics 640, I've changed my mind, it's been absolutely bullet proof since I got it on Friday, works brilliantly with my w800i, even when also paired with my work phone. I can't recommend it enough, so much so I bought 5 and am selling them on eBay!

what about range and battery

post your own short review

i mean 610 was to solve all my problems since im lot in a noisy enviroment and my only complaints with bt800 is the incoming volume at least with k750, seemed louder with k700, 2 sec delay when answer and size. well 610 solved those in my case but introduced a host of new complaints. pairing with multiple devices, no redial, hit and miss voice dial, range and most of all buggy dsp ( echo cancelation fine but noise cancelation awful)

so see my dilemma, based on everything i would choose plantronics in a sec but lack of dsp module makes it useless to me. also had very high hopes for 610a but as happy reported it might even be worse than 610.

so im back to jabra bt800 till another one comes out, as it stands totally dissapointed at se bt division for making such obsolete headsets when in their words having to re-pair with additional device is a normal behaviour, long after others have introduced redial function and pairing with up to 8 devices a norm
