Whenever you have a branded phone that is unbranded, there is trouble, because the CDA number is branded. Even if you get a new cDA number the IMAE number is the same and can be read by the update service. To avoid all this buy an factory unbranded/unlocked phone.

Now that's not totaly true at all! An example will illustrate it: If you buy a Vodaphone branded K750 in UK and unbrand it with a generic CDA for UK, then using SEUS is allowed. Let's not throw in more gossip in this matter unless you can technically show it, ok!

There are situations when a branded phone is unbranded with a firmware from a different part of the world and when SEUS will see that the IMAE has no connection with the CDA... then SEUS rejects it, correct! But that's not the situation for most people. This is all mentioned in the read me text available at DaVinci before unbranding, so no one will lose money if they read before unbranding!

...You need to select the correct CDA from the popup menu. If you selected EU4 as your firmware, then you want Europe 4 from this menu. That will provide you access to SEUS in the future. If you selected another firmware than EU4, then you need to know which CDA corresponds to that firmware. At the DaVinci forum there is a full list that's guides to the correct CDA, so visit that forum for the correct answer. Now make sure you have a credit and hit Flash and follow the online instructions. Now you're allowed to use SEUS.

DaVinci didn't fool you for money the first time, you just didn't read before spending your credit! I remember that masseur did this mistake as well when reloading firmware in his already unbranded K750 (DaVinci made a new firmware for masseurs preferred language available before SEUS) and he didn't select the right CDA. Then he couldn't use SEUS, but he didn't talk down on DaVinci since it was his own mistake! We all have a lot to learn from masseur on how to behave (yes, I have a lot to learn from him as well - I know)!

Oh, I'm sorry, I didn't know that davinci was to be worshiped.
And Anyway, I did select the correct CDA as you mentioned on the first step.
And if you say that masseur and others did the same mistake, well that means that their instructions are poor and not clear, otherwise this wouldn't be happening. That always brings us back to what caero said: How do they expect you to read thru hundreds of threads just to find out what you're supossed to do???? That doesn't make any sense.
Seriously, do you work for them or what?

@caero:
I really Hope you get yours fixed!!

@victorh017

At the time when masseur did the mistake it wasn't known to people that the CDA string was connected to the use of SEUS after unbranding a phone. People thought that as long as they had unbranded their phone everything would be fine in the future using SEUS... but it wasn't/isn't.

I brought it to Esatos attention early this summer when I saw that a lot of people started unbranding their K750 and I wanted them to know that it's important to use the correct CDA string. I discovered the connection between the CDA string and SEUS early this year when I was working with scripts for an application named SE Tool (thank you "vee" for discovering how to write a new CDA string using scripts)... DaVinci introduced the possibility to change CDA after SE Tool... and no! I have nothing to do with the DaVinci Team (or SE Tool)!
