You have to register (pay) to get that feature enabled, check here for more info:

Normally I use Winamp for editing tags.
resistance is futile.

thanx! that's what i thought. it would have been great if the right-click to edit in windows feature was included in the free version of dbpoweramp, but I guess I can make do with editing in winamp or in the mpio software that came with my old portable player.

I'm tempted, (w800 firmware) but I still not sure if I'm happy to lose the activity button. How do you find the task switching functions without the activity button?

I've noticed on the vodafone branded K750's you seem to be able to do everything you can with activity button, but you just have to use different keystrokes, since the activity button is not available in most situations. Have you come across anything that can't be done without the dedicated activity button?

AAC (M4A) is way better... i've tried to compare it when i convert both to 56kbps, mp4 sounded like a 128kbps mp3. And mp3 at 56kbps? it sucks....

you can hear a lot of distortion, unnecessary noise in mp3 format...

Majority of my music is ripped from CDs using CDex with Lame at 192bit to mp3. I know that I was wasting some space doing 192 but that's just the way I like it (not nearly as bad as my friend who uses Flac with file size being no better than half of .wav!). What would be the optimal re-encoding bit rate if I wanted to reduce file size without reducing quality drastically (I assume I'll have to convert them to m4a?)? Also - since the free version of dbpoweramp does not let you edit the 'id3' tags on m4a files, can they be loaded into itunes and edited there?

yes itunes can edit id tags for existing tracks.

rip to 128Kbps and you will have a smaller file with equivelent quality.

Rip to 96Kbps and you will still have a reasonable quality file and even smaller in size. Experiment and see what works best for you.

I myself use 64Kbps ofr most songs, some require 96Kbps to avoid some bad compression artifacts.

@max, i find the lack of the activity very annoying...if the Davinci team donīt come with a way to fix this, i might return to k750 firmware in future

I love the w800 media player, but the k750 activity menu is just wonderfull

hmmm...

I've been thinking about it, also for the flight mode which is really tempting, but the more I think about it, I really don't want to give up the activity button. I appreciate your thoughts, it confirms what I've been thinking.

I've managed to play with my sis's K750 vodafone with Vodafone Live button in place of the activity button, and I just don't like the lack of consistency in task switching.

Might just have to keep an eye on davinci for the time being.

For those who never noticed it (like me until a few weeks ago ) I got 'Windows Media Player 9' and have noticed there is an 'Advanced Tag Editor' in there when u 'Copy to CD or Device',after draggin and droppin the file in u can right click a file to get this option

Btw,I dont know if this is just for mp3,i never tried to edit aac cus they dont play on my mmc's which im still using in my hpr-10 mp3 player.
If nobody wants it.. put it on eBay.
