What I dont understand is why the nokia lovers keep on making these threads in an S//E forum. It doesnt make sence.
I mean, If you favour the nokias that much, that you find the 6230i to be a better phone than K750/W800i, as well as all other nokias to be better than S//E and find that S//E cant keep up - then shouldent you just be happy and dandy that your favourite mobile brand is doing so well ?
And pick up one the wonderfull nokias and spend all your time in the nokia forums praising them ?
Whats the point of hanging out here, constantly bringing up threads like this ?

Please someone delete this pointless thread!!
The original poster I believe was simply wondering impatiently when SE were releasing any more phones, and it seems to have degenerated into another SE Vs Nokia battle!
I think someone's even created a Nokia Vs SE thread elsewhere simply because he was a bit bored and fancied a fight!

well here's my 2 pennies. I work in a phone shop and never before have i seen so muich interest in sony ericsson phones. this is mainly down to the k750i, which we are selling by the bucket load. It seems word of mouth on this phone is spreading extremely fast as people have heard about its camera capabilities. Nokia on the other hand hardly sell in our store anymore, their rival the 6230i is just seen as a boring old uninspiring alternative. And the new phones from nokia, pure ugly, i've held the N90 or N91 or watever its called and no1 in their right mind would be caught walking around with that portable microwave/mobile phone stuck up against their head. The next sony ericsson phone would do well to arrive around december or january in my opnion. and also from what i hear sony ericsson have more than doubled their market share in the uk with the k750i alone. Pretty impressive for 1 phone |

i agree, the thread had degenerated into a nokia vs se slugfest, but us esatonians (the wiser ones atleast) have gone back to topic... me not included in those...
while nokia has improved its results,etc... what most of us prefer is that se has come up with 2 wonderful phones catering to the majority, great cam phone and great walkman / phone...
the new smartphone shall also be launched soon... hopefully...
as for the others be patient... santa claus is bringing the goodies...
seriously though, give em some time, i'm sure they will come up with newer range of phones sooon. |

what nokia is doing, basically is to flood the market with their unlimited range. mass marketing. maybe some see that nokia is doing well, but think of it in terms of quality. nokia has like 10 or something phone to every one that SE makes, who do you think would have the more volume? nokia of course. but which is more successful? i think you nokia fans know well enough that not ONE single phone in the nokia family can match any phone in the SE line, one on one. this is counting not only the quality of the product, but sales figures as well. think about it in a more analytical matter, guys.
and launching a new phone every 2 months or so? what's this? attention deficit disorder with your current phones? i thought phones were meant to be used as a practical device that LASTS? not some throwaway fashionthingie. 1 year or so is perfectly justified product life cycle for a phone i think.
just my 2 cents, cheers |

what se needs is a new smartphone we already have enough of the normal phones ,why a new smartphone well for a start the p910 was more or less an update +well the competition has stiffened up a bit and it usually takes a bit of time for se phone prices to become reasonable once released |

Have faith! The new phones will come. Think K750 on steroids (3-4MP cam), with UIQ3 hard screen os Think P910 on a diet plan....
They're coming baby...!!! |

You fans need objectivity for Nokia fans have some
I personally dont fancy N90. And I wouldnt buy one. Too big, too many moving parts, too expensive, disappointing pictures etc. Though packed with features.
I do like K750i. It looks kind of sexy, has a very nice screen and UI, but lacks EDGE. I dont like W800 or other "Walkman" phones from which I really consider as jokes so far. I would rather call them "Limpman" phones. The walkman back then brought about a revolution from Sony but W800 and other walkman phones really are not decent heirs in my eyes for the time being.
The Motorola ROKR is trying the same trick, trying to build on the huge success of iPod and iTunes... But the recipe is not the right one yet.
I'm waiting for THE phone that could let me leave my iPod at home...

I think the two lineups that actually need more effort by SE are:
- a couple of new smartphones. (one really PDA-like and the other much more smartphone-like)
- a serious new release on the UMTS side (if you don't support EDGE at least give UMTS a chance)
These two aspects might be combined in one or two phones.
have always be quite active in meeting consumer-trend (what about the first colour screen phone in Europe, the first to develop seriously the concept of digital cameras combined with phones, in Europe)
But actually I see little effort on the smartphone side and on the UMTS.
I am still longing for a K750 phone with UMTS in it. I own a t610 (which I would like to replace) and a K700i. Since I am on contract with both (K700i given to me by my boss) I would like to buy a phone that lasts at least a year. And I am still convinced that investing in a UMTS capable phone is good if you still want to use its features in a years time (and if you don't have unlimited phone-budget that allows you to keep a K750 until the middle of next year..).
So I agree with the general idea of this bost albeit still convinced that phones, if released in non-geological times, don't have competition...
Cheers
