Finally managed to get my UK SIM free EU_1/EUROPE_2 updated to R1N035 after the update service having insisted on giving me R1L over and over again (tried it about five or six times in all).
Update went smoothly without any problems at all - but then I'm fairly unique in that I've never had any problems with the update service with any SE handsets.

I do think its pretty annoying that even some of the branded handsets appear to have been getting R1N before SIM free versions though.

JT, right now I'm loving it. Better reception in my room and better video! This firmware rocks.

Yeah I feel the same way, reception bar is always on maximum. Thing I like the most is that the mp3's sound clearer than before.

Looks like Sony finally did something right for a change.

the only thing i see that i don't remember seeing is in the camera. When i switch from picture to video there's a red screen that blinks before the transition. It's like not even a second and not even a big problem but it's there.

I heard a lot of esatonians trying to update to this
new SE f/w and a lot of them saying that updating stops when
it reached 40% or 50%. Some are saying that after the update,
the camera doesn't work anymore.

I'll stick and wait to my R1L002 for now

My phone update was successful, I did it yesterday. No problem at all and no red screen while switching from photo to movie. And yes the update just jumped from 52% to 100% but worked, so I guess it is just somthing wrong with the progression bar, not with the firmware itself.

Movies look sharper, photos are just the same in good light condition, better in dark light condition. Just to do a long story short, R1N035 kicks ass!

Hi All,

I use DaVinci to flash my phone to CDA 102337/10 from 102338/55 as I read on this forum that this will allow it to update via SEUS. It flashed successfully however when I have a look at my Service Info it is still coming up with the old CDA. This brings me to believe that either DaVinci is a crock or that the CDA 'On Screen' doesnt change.

Any thoughts?

P.S. It still wont update to R1N via SEUS...wtf?
