GD 87 / 88 does not have bluetooth! as for infra = unknown still! confirmed!
Went to the communicasia 2002 show and played with it already, it has everything except bluetooth.
GD88 is triband definitely! with 16 polyphonic. But camera is lousy only 110K pixel! therefore the MCA - 20 is three times better than the camera of GD 88! but of course you can see damm nice pictures on GD 88 due to TFT LCD 65K colors. but if you send it for printing, it sucks big time!
Get the GD88 if you dont have much data to transfer but if you do, suggest you stick to your T68i!

Triband all i worried,I do not care for bluetooth really that much, not this year maybe in 2003, the cam is only little fun I will use it from time to time for MMS jokes, for quality pics I have a 4.0 Sony PC9, so I think GD87 will be my next mobile for sure |

This is from the GD87 press release on http://www.panasonicmobile.com/frame/e_eng.html
"For the business user there is support for GPRS enabling faster data download speeds with a virtually permanent connection to the network and there is also SyncML for synchronising your phone with your PC or PDA via an infrared facility."

Here is Samsungs effort, the V200. They say it will be out by December.

Or if you are a Vodafone user, they will have the Sharp GX10 available from October 25th. The only pics I have found are from russian websites. Its the clamshell phone on the webpages.

It has MMS, 65k TFT, camera, and Java. It is exclusive to Voda networks worldwide. As some of you may know, Sharp make the most popular camera phones in Japan.

And all MMS usage on Vodafone (in the UK) will be free until Jan 31st 2003!!

Thats what I've been told by Voda customer services. He said thast at the moment their billing system can't tell the difference between normal GPRS usage and sending/receiving MMS using GPRS, so it had to be free until they work that out.
Apparently you will be able to try out MMS and Vodafone Live, the new consumer Wap service, from tomorrow in Voda stores in and around the UK. |

You might think I am crazy, but I really don't like the clambshell design in mobile phones. I admit it has the advantage of protecting the screen from scratches, but I really don't like it. The best design, to me, is like the t39 (used to have a t18 and was so good from that point of view) and also the P800.
So I will not buy a multi-screen, always-open-before-you-answer clambshell phone

I, some time ago (not so much time), also didn't like this type of phones. But now, given the huge size phones can have, and since this is practical and saving space, I'm starting to like them a lot! The 1st I really liked was samsung T100 for it's design!! unfortunately, as everyone knows, it has almost 0 (zero!) features... what a pity!.. Let's see this Panasonic GD 87 |

it have far less memory then t68. for us t68 memory is still consider as "enough" for normal storage without using MMS. http://threegmobile.net said that it have only 500k of memory only. further more this phone have camera function which require the photo store in the phone. The memory is a big disadvantage |
