I was annoyed that if you are back on your main screen while the walkman is playing, I had to press the walkman button then right/left on the joystick to go forward/back a track.
Just realised that if you hold down the volume up/down that skips tracks too when you are away from the walkman function.
Also for Opera Mini users right/left joystick is page up/page down which makes scrolling pages much faster.

this is something i found out when i had the w800i
just a couple of days.
you can play your music very loud compared to walkman
throw settings/aounds & alerts/ringvolume
you adjust the lume from 8 to 7 back to 8 again
your selected ringtone usually a mp3.
it makes a lot more sound throw the speaker
the only downside is that it really drains your battery
really handy in buisy area's though.
an other way of increasing volume is throw equilizer in walkman
you adjust it manually.
first bar to max 2nd bar to max 3rd to abou 2/3 (not further then yellow)
4th same as 3r 5th to maximum
and offcourse volume to max
this seems usefull to most songs without really disrupting the quality
if you have other combo's plz post

not sure if it's been mentioned but it's easy to sync w800i with WMP. make sure you select create folders under sync options and it will but the tunes onto the memory stick in music/artist/album/song format. it doesnt' matter that they're in a folder called music instead of mp3 the phone recognizes them. very handy to sync |

Are the tips and tricks the same for the K750 also, as these phones are quite similar?

You top geezer! I've been having nightmares since I got my first W800 in Sep '05.
Disc2Phone is a pile of cr4p and has been driving me mad, saying songs were transferred but when I disconnect the USB lead and hit the W, they're not there or sometimes songs do transfer but the bitrate doesn't get dropped down to 128k and the phone won't play 'em. Dragging and dropping has given me all sorts of issues with failing playback on the phone and some songs not transferring. On the bright side, I got a brand new replacement from Orange in March (same problems though) and got scot-free of the remaining contract too! Now to get it unlocked and unbranded...
I only kept WMP on my PC as a little F*** you to realnetworks, but this is brilliant! Top tip! |

to turn OFF camera sound, change profile to Meeting or Silent mode. |

In most regions you can not turn off the camera sound. Even if you switch to silent or meeting mode. At least the w800 and k750 have a decent camera click. It's far better than the loud crash sound of my old k508. I know the K700's and K300's also have this crash sound. With the w800 I don't see why some see it as important or even urgent to have the sound off - at least with the sound forced on dirty little perverts and the like will find it hard to take photos in change rooms and toilets. Plus, with the sound you know when you have taken the photo. |
