Umm, it looks like GSM Arena already has the Xperia XZ2 in its photo compare tool:
https://www.gsmarena.com/picc[....]66&idPhone2=9081&idPhone3=8858
Maybe for the upcoming review? Or maybe a placeholder? I'm unsure
Checking the low light pics, the XZ2 actually seems to do quite a bit better than the S9 and the iPhone X. Very nice.
While some noise is still visible, it's not that bad. Also, if you scale the pics down to 12MP, the XZ2 does a great job against the others and most of the noise disappears.

@vivftp:
Totally agree. Here is an example of low light scaling down to 12MP on GSMArena. The texture is clear on XZ2 but it is lost on S9 and iPhone X.

Seems like that qualcomm is helping the processing a bit, there does seem to be more noise when no scaling is applied on the sony images (the good light photo).
Looking at the 5 dollar bill, the sony with it 19MP cam has more details with regards to the small letters and writing.
When looking at iso12223 photo, the white balance does seem a bit off on the sony, the white seem more gray.
the noise will always be there guess samsung and apple use very aggressive post processing. If you look at 12mp scale at the rubber bands in the top right hand corner, the noise is quite present.
Compare the XZ premium and XZ2, they are both iso 80 1/100s, there is less noise on the XZP but I feel that is the post processing hitting in. This was in the good light photo.
But if you compare the low light photos, xzp and xz2, it seems the settings are different, xzp is at iso 800 and 1/32s, where as the xz2 is at iso 200 and 1/8s, the XZ2 shutter time is 4 times as long in the dark but keeps iso down. I guess this is what sony opted for in the XZ2 line, longer shutter speeds and lower iso
Will be interesting to see the full hi res photos from the review. |

Guys, this is what I have been saying.
If you compare all flagships of 2017, XZ1 wins all, except low light.
You can compare to any other phone..
Above the dollar bill, there is another bill ( I have no idea which nation is from).
There is a lens, a fingerprint on its glass.
Only XZ1 shows it perfectly.
Same for Spongebob, donkey, tomato/carrot..
I have no idea how XZ2 could go 1/8s and lower ISO without OIS..
My phone sometimes in a dark room ( just TV on) goes NIGHT SCENE.
ISO goes 250, but shutter is still 1/20s or 1/25s.
Unless Sony decided to limit ISO on auto, like no more than 250, leaving 12800 for manual.
Or scene recognition is working on a new level.

Hmm... ok I'm a bit dumb here. He mean we wouldn't see dual camera this year for real ?
But SONY staff in Thailand said it will be available this June =0=
