let him spend his money on his proprietary micro$oft sh*t, if he has any...
After trying the x10 on CeBIT I am definitely sure this device will be awesome.
with time his arguments have gone away... now he begans to spam this thread with offtopic stuff, why there is no mod doing something?

I know we're not really supposed to feed trolls but, as it seems I won't be the first here goes Sealover: Don't you get bored repeating yourself, I know I do....
Firstly the WM device that you keep showing us is Fugly IMO and as many others have mentioned WM doesn't have much pedigree, I have friends that have used them and enjoy them in-spite not because of WM.
Secondly when is the new WM platform due out, I am pretty sure that I heard it was towards the end of the year, indeed see the enclosed link from GSM arena, states the first device may arrive September, ahead of the December MS had hinted at:
http://www.gsmarena.com/panth[....]s_phone_7_device-news-1493.php
Thirdly, as I stated in our PM comms, I was in the Apple flagship store here on Regent St and none of the staff are expecting anything anythime soon... In fact, I talked to one of the managers there nd he said that people are just assuming there will be an announcement because that has been the pattern in the past with a Aummer phone update.... However with the iPad still crawling to market here and there on-going law-suits, which may explain the lack of MT in the X10 at the Mo, just ask HTC.
Lastly whilst it is kind of you to think of us, despite your frequent assertions, I don't think anyone here but you is trying to persuade anyone else to buy a particular phone or brand... It does almost seem as if you are trying to persuade people on here to buy anything bar SE... Sometimes you show us a Dell device that's not out, sometimes Samsung, at the moment you are showing us the WM prototype that GSMA says categorically will not be a released phone. Most of these devices are behind the X10 in at least one respect such as the Camera.
OK rant over. Thanks for letting me vent guys and gals...

The X10 will be avialable here (in Holland) at the end of march. I don't know the exact date anymore, because I smoke too much and my contract ends in april.
I'd be very happy once I have my X10, but I'm really going to miss this thread
forever!

hmm... surely I will get X10, as of now, X10 is the only good looking phone with good looking UI and looking to be blazing fast.
as for iphone, I think even with the new one, they can't do multitasking. Maybe apple is too scared if their phone is laggy due to the multitasking....
too me multitasking is a must have for smartphone. |

I don't know, it looks like a bunch of boring flat-shaded squares and rectangles to me. As a Graphic Designer, I'm not impressed. |

Sorry going to go a bit OT again here: As a UK user the iPhone even now in 3GS is still really pricey. You either have to pay Apple or sign up to a 24 month contract n which you get less texts or minutes than you would with any other handset at that pricepoint and still pay them extra for the phone. Can you imagine how much the newest shiniest one will be if they give it a decent camera? Never mind the possibility of a period of an Exclusive carrier.
As an Apple user the whole iPhone thing just pains me because it goes against so much of what they stand/stood for. There stuff always been Premium Prosumer kit, a bit dearer than a generic PC running Windows, but you et what you pay for....With the iPhone this is just patently not true. The price is still inflated but in most aspects of Spec none of my last three phones would be worried by it. They have only brought 3G which all of my last phones for perhaps 4-6 years seem to have had in the last year for those of us not in Utopian Silicon valley Wi-fi clouds and as for Bricking phones when people via OTA Sofware updates for people who dared to pay extra to import phones and use them with their own networks!!!!?!!!!
So, many more reasons that whilst I wait with interest to see the next iPhone's spec, I doubt I'll be getting one....Hurry up X10. On the bright side I may be due an upgrde by the time it hits the market on Orange!?! |

If SE sells 10/11 units who cares one of them will be mine .
At the end, to me it is a matter of taste when choosing devices and I find SE more in-line with the way I like them to behave. They are not perfect but again they 'feel' better than other devices and amongst their current offerings the X10 fulfills my requirements.
There will always be the next gadget around the corner with higher specs. and indexes but for the time being, X10 is coming home,...whenever that may be.
Regards. |

The general feel of the UI is superb, and the Cam borrowed from Sony's Cybershot experience is IMO the best both in terms of usability and the quality of images that it produces..

True, with the data intensive applications such as the internet part of Mediascape it will only be as fast as the networks can load the data - e.g the network will be the bottleneck.

Surely this depends on where you buy your own phone and what contract / tariff you choose and how much you pay. No one can answer that question but yourself.

No S**t Sherlock! I still want to see the costs before I buy though.
As for the Timescape question you are only partially correct, I want to see how it handles large contacts databases as they are held locally I have approx 800 contacts in my phone mostly business but some social and I am not going to part with a lot of money unless I am certain this thing will handle the work load as well as if not better than my existing device. Common sense I am sure you will agree.

Well, i'm looking forward to it since i've had my trusty old K800 for the last 3 or so years (2 x 18 month contracts). Oh, and my contract runs out on 21st March... how convinient. Will just go 1 month Sim Only on 02 before getting it... depends on the price of the contracts i may just buy it outright and then get another 18 month money back contract and sell the phone i get with that one. I've found some that end up being £9 inc Web Access, 300 mins and Ultd txts...
Fingers crossed and get this phone released in the UK now!!!

Does anyone have any info in when the white one will be released?? I heard from one seller that is stocking the black on 21st March that the white has yet to be given a date and will arrive later. Can anyone confirm this or even better give us a date? I'm home in the UK from April 10th till April 28th and ideally would pick up a white UK version.
I have a dig bick You read that wrong |

It seems from the videos that network bottleneck and specific social networking settings greatly effect how "fast" timescape works (from what I can tell from the videos at least). If you're concerned with local content only (I'm assuming this means only locally stored text messages, photos, and possibly pre-fetched emails, I think you should be safe.
I'm curious if there is a setting in time scape that allows it to pre-fetch content on pre-defined intervals or when specifically told to refresh. That way all content is essentially "local" and the speed of timescape should dramatically increase since it doesn't have to wait for network traffic while it retrieves content from facebook/twitter, etc.
Like you, I'm curious how it handles large amounts of data. I have quite a number of contacts myself would need an efficient way to manage all of them and their communications.
