Q1 2011 - PSPhone release
Q2-Q3 2011 - New flagship release.
there is no successor to X10, they are making a whole new line of phones. there is no X12/14/16. |

Maybe google is to blame for this. SE and others have perhaps been told that dual cores is possible for honeycomb not gingerbread. Hence, SE have planned phones accordingly which mean top of the line hardware only after android 3.0. Given the one year timeframe of X10 release they have to prepare some sort of upgrade which would be anzu. Now suddenly according to phonearena, samsung and google have changed the terms and will make android 2.3 optimized for dual cores sort of back stabbing other manufacters. |

Agree with you Google is back stabbing us..
The only reason gingerbread is late cause nexus S is late and its due to hardware issue.. So its obvious google is upgrading to dual core..
________
I dont understand whats the point launching a phone which will get outdated within a year or wont be stable for honeycomb??
Atleast X10 is better for 2 software update's(2.1,2.2*)
Sony ericsson should act quicker and do something abt this they still got time.. Atleast X12 should work fine for 2years..

From what I see this same spec as X10 handset (whether or not it is actually anzu or X12 or 'yo mama' or whatever) seems like the sort of incremental re-release that we saw for other great selling hero phones from in the past, such as K800->K810, W800->W810 etc. It's a way to extend the life of an older handset without much extra development or cost. These re-releases aren't ever the flagship but more a bridge until the flagship arrives and as a toe in on the mid-range when the high-end becomes mid-range and technology advances. I'm not too disturbed by hearing no multi-core, only .3 inch screen improvement, no increase in OS as all that means is that there's a better phone coming.
I have a dig bick You read that wrong |

Short summary from today's MR article on SE 2011 phones by Eldar:
*Anzo/Kraken (Likely to be called X12) will come as a successor to X10
*Anzo is very slim and it is likely to be its main advantage
*Anzo hardware: 4.3", 8 Mpix and MSM7230 chipset, 1 processor
*Today it works on 2.1 but it is going to be updated to 2.3 in March 2011
*Price around EUR 650
*It is the new SE flagship phone

Continued
*in the first half 2011 SE phones we will see "new" functions like equalizer and some applications from A200
*there will be two WP7 phones, but they will be more interesting to the US market (will appear arround the end of Q1 2011) with no real advantages compared to their competitors
*Vivaz and Vivaz Pro successors on android look very similar to Vivaz and Vivaz Pro and are a bit bigger in size (price could be EUR 270 and EUR 320)
*Next X10 mini and X10 mini Pro will have a bit better hardware and larger screens making them more convenient for daily use
*PSP phone will be available only in some markets and its future in not quite clear

I also will stick with my x10 and my mini for a while, at least until that dual-core stuff appears
seems like se had fall in love with quallcom msm chipset. They used it in entire xperia android line.. last se phone with omap is satio and vivaz.. (maybe they had optimized their android kernel with msm?)
