@Angel,I just browsed with my Glo & they deducted the amount due to them.So they aren't doing free browsing. The 0.00 account balance u have might end up in a negative billing.

@ihe: Yahoo! mail inbox opens fine here on my 9500 with MTN. And I mean the WAP site, not Web.

Can you mention any other sites not loading at your end, so I can check them out here?

I welcome 3G for data on GSM networks, but again I have my reservations. It will be more expensive. And GPRS is already expensive enough. Again, as enumerated earlier, none of the networks is actually managing GPRS well. I shudder at how things will go with 3G.

Exactly my point! One can only imagine the chaos that would emanate from the huge traffic of 3G.

Bottomline is, any cellular network in Nigeria has to really brace itself up to be able to meet up with the huge demand of Africa's most populous nation, Nigeria.

I had the same problem with Yahoo when browsing on the built-in browser of my P800 last year. Others have experienced the same issue. I think its between the P-series and Yahoo. May have little to do with the network.

@Angel: Watch out, 30 seconds after your next recharge, glo will deduct what you have used for browsing.

I agree with Ihe, I also have problems opening some wapsites using MTN which doesn't occur when I use Glo. Yahoo opens on MTN, but sites like nairaland, esato forums(bookmarked), even MTN's wap site do not.

Nobody seems excited about the tariff slash on Vmobile, you can be sure that other networks will follow suit.

MTN GPRS became unusable yesterday till this morning, so I popped back in my Glo SIM to see if it would be active again, and - yes! Deliverance!!

I ran a speed test on Glo GPRS with the ff results:-

Web: 26 kbit/sec 7.55 a.m.
WAP: 3kbit/sec 8.03 a.m.
______________
Visit http://gosmartmobile.com on WAP or Web; it makes no difference

@angel: It just arrived this morning. As before, it arrived as an SMS notification with a link and password to access it online.
