p900 costs way too much, and carrying all those duos round is a pain
I've got my eye on a philips mp3 player. Tis all black and lovely. 40gb storage etc etc still expensive though.

Mornin All (was nights last night).
@Mixin
How about a price or some more Specs for the Philips MP3 player?
@Miss UK
Is Mixin right about battery life?
I've already got a P900 and about 200megs worth of Duos. I tried using it as an MP3 player for a week and just got Pee'd off with havin to re-convert all my mp3's to a lower bit rate so i could fit more on the duo's!
Also i've heard a rumor that it's a must that you change the standard ipod headphones cos it makes it obvious you have a couple of hundred £££'s worth of mp3 player in ya pocket. People were being mugged for their ipods!!?
Any responses would be welcomed cos i'm really missin my music!
One last thing... Is there an inline remote availble for the ipod? Defo the best thing bout my old philips one... the remote had a little display that showed the track tags!
cheers
Burgaz

Don't know why any1 would feel the need to av 4gb of music to walk round with? U'd never listen to all of them. I got about 10 cd's in my car which i av 100 cd's worth which i still aint listened to all plus like mix said they way too expensive :o i'd look 4 a cheaper option.

right:
philips model is a HD400 (i think) looks rather nice, if a little large. Only looked at it cos it was quite sexy
Ipods battery life is alright, but after 12-18 months the battery is unusable, so you have to send it off to apple for repairs, which cost a bomb.
And as for carrying 4gigs of music around... Most of my mp3's are encoded at 320kbps, so they already take up quite a lot of room. And the idea of these large capacity Mp3 player, is that you dont have to waste time transfering files every morning cos you dont wanna listen to the same songs as yesterday on the bus.
ipods and iTunes work well together, cos they syncronise the music on both your pc/mac and the actual ipod
i need a high capacity mp3 player for when i go away on my travels
so need to look into whats best for me closer to the time
and as for people getting mugged for ipods. I do believe apple did release a security warning about that. They are more or less the only company who ship a music device with white headphones
AND, the 3 varieties of big ipod, the cheapest one does not coem with a remote, but the 20gig and 40gig versions both do

Hmm...... I think my next purchase will be a portable DVD player with a built-in TV tuner, rather than an i-pod. I know I'll be showing my age here, but there's nothing wrong wirh CDs or mini discs
