Yep, I thought the menu's were slower too. And I keep having issues with the Bluetooth Headset icon remaining on screen even after the headset has disconnected and Bluetooth turned off.

I noticed after both OTA FW upgrades I have made so far, that the first time I opened the menus after the upgrade, it took a very long time, but after that initial menu opening, it returned to its normal menu speed.

Good news for 3UK subscribers as I'm right now in the middle of updating the firmware on my 3 branded K800i , about time too

Firmware for 3 now reported as: R1EJ001

Feels like a new phone, the menus and thumbnails respond like lighting now and connection to the PC seems to be more responsive too. only hope that Sony can give the user more control of photo compression

I sent SE an email when the firmware wouldn't update properly for Orange UK.
I Gave them:
My current firmware
the one I was updating to
my OS
what happened on SEUS
the resulting problem on my phone
what I thought was the problem

I got this back today (this happened about a week ago)

With regards to your enquiry, please provide further information as to the problems that you are experiencing so that we can offer further assistance.
If the Update service returns to the main screen then the Update has in fact completed on the handset.

Err, how about no, I told you it didn't reach 100%, it stopped and went back to the start. What more information do they need?

I have brand new k800i "Casino Royale" edition with preinstalled Casino Royale stuff (ringtones, pictures, trailers etc). The problem is, that I can not play them, I get error sayng "Cannot play this ..." All these files are with a little key logo. I have the latest firmware, also reintalled it, but nothing. I downloaded same files from SE site and result was nothing...

I don't care about these files, but this can happen also with other files. So is this my uniqe problem or... ?

I took my phone to warranty and they completley reinstalled the software an now it's OK. I also have R1GB and no video preview crash. Previous bug: the phone forgot "shortcut" after restart is also solved.

Video preview has also been sorted on mine as well after updating through SEUS. I first updated to R1GB via Wotan and the phone kept crashing on the video folder but after updating via SEUS its not crashed at all.
Just a little freeze when highlighting a video I did with the phone
I tried sniffing coke once but didnt like it. The bubbles kept going up my nose

How did you do that? Isn't SEUS would say you have latest firmware already?

I upgraded via SEUS and video preview of my QVGA high quality 3gp video almost crash the phone. It plays OK though and I change it to List to avoid video preview.

May be none of you notice on previous FW (Before R1GB001) that 'stereo widening' only works with first played file in the playlist.

But now it FIXED... IM SO HAPPY!!!
I love this feature.

And for those who want the bass effect. Why not attach the cover bud to the earphone. Works great for me

Surely SEUS says that you have the latest f/w and update is not needed. But, just click Continue anyway option. Who knows what Rookwise told us is true. I just re-updated mine via SEUS to R1GB but can't tell the video fix true or not as I simply don't have any BIG video file on my K800i at all. Why don't you try?

I updated my K800i (UK on O2) via the SEUS which brought me up to R1ED001

I noticed that R1ED001 make a fix to the "browse internet" button on the phone that when pressed opens the browser. Previously i only needed to brush this button and a browser would load up, not good for the phone bill!! with the FW update the button needed to be held in for a few seconds before the browser was started.

I then updated to R1GB001 using the wotan server and it seems that they have reverted the browser internet button back to its previous settings which aint good! im thinking of droppping back down to R1ED001

Sorry not possible to downgrade firmware to CID49 level (R1ED) unless you use R1GB CID49! The R1GB from SEUS will behave the same as R1ED in this internet button. You may try to flash again with SEUS.

Well, I don't see continue anyway option. SEUS has updated the client to 2.7.1.12 so maybe they don't allow it anymore.

When I updated to R1ED via Wotan. The Continue Anyway option on SEUS wouldn't appear and it just said I already have the latest software installed.
However. When I updated via Wotan to R1GB I had the video preview crash on everything saved on my MSM but the default video's on the phone worked with no problems.

I checked SEUS to see if my K800 would work with it properly again and it recognised the phone. Said I already had the latest software installed and also the Continue Anyway option appeared. I selected the Continue Anyway option and SEUS updated the phone.

Since doing so. I've noticed the following (as previously stated):

All video's saved onto the MSM work fine in 3x3 thumbnail view and 5x5 thumbnail view except for when just one video is highlighted. The video is 20 mins long as was taken with the phone using R1ED firmware. The pause was not enough to restart the phone and it would move onto the next one about 5 seconds after pressing the joystick. (This did not happen when updating to R1GB via Wotan)

Animated themes are no longer smoothly animated. Seems like the framerate has slowed slightly.

Phone seems slower overall with a slight delay between button presses.

And for the disbelievers. A video (Taken with a W810i) of proof to back up what I've already said. All videos were installed on the MSM before the R1GB update.
Video also shows what software I have.

My K800 video

It's weird that SEUS has no Continue Anyway option to re-update to R1GB001. I'll check later when I have my PC with me. I'm still on Opera Mini now. I do always have the Continue Anyway option in the history of my updating via SEUS.

So whether it appear or not depends on the phone firmware?

Hm if your video is taken with K800 then it is not QVGA (240x320) but QCIF. It is dissapointing to see even video preview would slow down on it. I encoded the QVGA 3gp myself using an option that said High Quality QVGA stereo 3gp. The encoder uses Xvid but I don't know exactly the bitrate (cause it is one click option). It does not crash the phone but it is obvious the phone is strugling to video preview it. (I got 9 videos each around 40MB (12mins). When I try to cancel it, it took the phone almost 10 mins to recover.

Hope SE fix this in the next firmware.

Sorry I have no idea whether it appear with my K800 as I am quite sattisfied with my k800 performance. It is the Z610 that also don't have this option. I change it from APAC R1ED to TAIWAN R1EJ CDA with Kulan and tried to see whether SEUS has already got R1GB. It just simply said I have the latest firmware.
